Question regarding the day after

Original post by chrispar

Are you guys having a breakfast/brunch for your hotel guests the next morning? My hotel provides a continental breakfast but I was thinking of kicking it up a notch and doing a big breakfast and inviting the guests who stay over. I don't have too many guests staying over but enough. FH thinks that the continental breakfast is enough but I go back and forth. What are you guys doing? They charge a fee to book the private room and then it's a certain price per person. I am definitely leaving OOT bags in their rooms but I was thinking of attaching a note inviting them to breakfast too. Thanks

I did a brunch the next day and was SO glad I did My hotel where the OOT guests stayed provided a continental breakfast but we wanted to have everyone together. Also, the continental breakfast was only served until 10 so when we booked a private room for a brunch we had it until 12:30 which was great since the wedding ended very late so people slept in.

I highly recommend doing something the day after if it's in your budget!

Thanks!

In my experience, very few people even stay for the breakfast...so i wouldn't go too crazy! I think the continental is more than enough!

I don't know what to do. We are paying $500.00 for the shuttle and the cheapest brunch is $11.95 pp and it's just cereal and fruit. Something 1/2 way decent is going to run us approx. 15-16pp.

Us too! Are you at the Four Points??

We did a brunch, but didn't cater it through the hotel, we were able to bring in our own catering. DH's parents paid for it though, since most of our OOT guests were their family...it was actually really nice to be able to see everyone again that morning! (we had about 75 OOT guests I would say....including the whole BP)

We're doing the post-nuptial breakfast. We think it's a nice way to say thank you...we only have about 17 people though. We're including a card in the OOT bucket inviting them to breakfast.

We used the best western and had the breakfast. People actually loved it cause they were able to talk to us about the night before. We loved it for the same reason. You don't get to talk to many people the night of the wedding but the next morning it was nice to sit and relax with everyone. I def think that if you can fit it into your budget them do it.

Re: Question regarding the day after

Depending on how many of our OOT guests are attending, we would like to have a very informal bbq at my parent's house the next afternoon. If this does happen, we are going to mail out invitations for the day after bbq shortly after our RSVP date.

We are not providing a brunch as of now. The hotel we are blocking rooms at has a continental cold breakfast. We have about 60 OOT guests, but some are staying at relatives' houses - I think we will only have about 30 staying at the hotel. Unless FILs offer to have a breakfast - most of the OOTs are their family members - we are just going to leave it at that. FH and I are staying at a different hotel, which provides a full hot deluxe breakfast.

Even though a continental breakfast is included, we decided to do a brunch. We also have to pay a room fee and we have to pay per person, but we have a lot of family coming from OOT that we hardly get to see and we want to spend as much time with them as possible before they leave. I think it's $12 pp plus a $400 room fee.

We probably won't because we would want to be there and we have to be leave early the next day for our HM flight. Plus I know we won't have the money and I don't think my parents will want to foot the bill and FH's parents never pay for anything. Oh well!

YES. Ours is like that too - SERIOUSLY a rip off!! we're just going to have it at a restaurant and have people pay if they want to come. I refuse to pay $12 for bagels and can't afford anything else. But I really want to have one.
