Hey FCousinIL!! That was one we would have loved too!!
After we found out they were run by the same people as BCC, we asked if we could just switch venues (it was also about 5 minutes from where we lived) but the added site fee was a bit much for us!

Actually, my first choice was a castle in Ireland, but that woud have been a bit difficult too!

Stonebridge Country Club, a little out of our price range though.

yup - this was my first choice but just decided it was silly to spend the $$ we didn't have. So it came down to Danford's and Three Village Inn.

I am completely unfamiliar with Long Island and didn't know where to begin. Actually the Watermill (not Thatched) was our first and only choice because it came highly recommended and could accomodate our 'smaller' wedding .. plus Scotto bros owned, big plus! But when we got to the WM, they couldn't do our wedding in the timeframe we needed in the smaller room we needed. The date was really booked up and we had just finalized our church, so we couldn't move anything around. I was extremely upset.

That is, until we drove by Thatched on the way back to FILs house, which is completely out of the way, mind you. FH said what the hell, lets just go in (funny enough I hated it from the outside and really didn't want to bother). Yet the minute I stepped foot inside and out back, I knew it was the place I wanted to have my recept. We had no appointment, no clue what they would say about our minimum or date.. yet everything worked out excellent!

As they say, everything happens for a reason

I went with NRC.
My 2nd choice was JA.

I loved the Carlton but it was way overpriced and personally DH and I couldn't justify the price for one day in our heads. Esp. the price was about $200 bare bones.

I believe JA is John Anthony's

My first choice was Terrace on the Park, but it was too far. My second choice was Leonard's, but they didn't have our date available.

We only looked at 4 places:

My first choice was tied b/w Land's End & Carlyle on the Green, but they were too much $ and we wanted a Sat night in Sept which we got at JA's.

Second choices were JA's and the Riviera in Massapequa and ultimately chose JAs.

Us too. But if that hadn't worked out, I think it would have been Fox Hollow or Old Field Club
