What are your holiday traditions? Ones that you love and will definitely pass on with your kids?
Mine is always to exchange jammies Christmas Eve so we can have them forChristmas Day..
I think thats definitely something I will keep..

every year my mom buys us an ornament. that ornament reflects events that have happened in our lives that year. like this year, i will probably get an ornament that has something to do with me getting engaged. our tree is full of ornaments that have a lot of meaning and tons of memories. i love that tradition!

Me and FH has started the tradition of buying ornaments that reflect something that has happened over the year. Each of us have our own. Last year I got dance shoes and he got a puppy ornament because we got our puppy rocky two weeks before christmas. This year I got him a redskins football and which we wrote the #21 on it for player Sean Taylor who was killed two weeks ago, one of his favorite players.
I will get the engagement ornament too that so many of you have gotten already.
I plan on keeping that tradition forever. I can't wait until I have kids and we can go to the store and they can pick out their own

we use to open our gifts at midnite on christmas eve/christmas day... but then one year it all changed.... now we wait till christmas day...
another was to set up christmas on dec 1st... no matter what day it was.. but this year didnt work so well cuz i moved out... and FH doesn't have time to get a tree yet... so that's on hold.. but that's something that i want to keep...

I guess for us its going to my parents house christmas eve and day and celebrating with my family since his family is in Greece. We also go and pick out a tree together every year.

buying each other ornaments that reflect something about the year.. (very similar to what some of the other lovely ladies said)
and... FH and I make each other 1 homemade gift every year.. we can't spend more than $5 on supplies..... like last year.. we made each other the same thing.. LOL too funny....... we made each other a STORY BOOK.... using pics of ourselves.. as the characters!!!! hehehe
and the year before he gave me a coupon book.... each coupon was good for something (i.e. foot massage, a chick flick, ... etc etc)

getting a real xmas tree every single year! theres nothin like it!
eta: and over years, we've been makin it a habit of opening gifts on xmas eve... id like to continue that, but of course leave some on the side for santa to bring the kiddies!

We get at least one ornament each year that has a special meaning. Like in 2004 we saw the Christmas Show at Radio City for the first time together. I actually got teary-eyed when I took out the ornament dated from the show this year. I LOVE stuff like that!!!

well christmas eve we all get to pick one gift and open it. then we each hang up our stockings on the fire place and when we were little our dad would read us a story.. then we all scratch holiday lottory tickets haha but none of us have won anything big.. each christmas we hope!! then christmas mornings we watch the yule log while opening gifts. i will definitly continue those traditions when its finally time to have kids
