I am curious, when you sent out or will send out your invitations, will you write the persons name in the response card?
I had thought of doing this, and my FSIL did it on their invites (last year). It saves on having to write a number on the back.
What are your thoughts?
TIA!!

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
We didn't put the names on it. We put a number with a pencil in the top right hand corner of the card after it was folded. It worked out really well.

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
I wouldn't take the time to write the names.
We used a pencil and put the numbers in the back right corner. I have about 1/3 of my cards back, and I have only gotten one card without a name on it so I'm glad we did the #'s.

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
If you have any questionable families that might try to add people on their card (like their kids or something) then I would go ahead and write their names and the guest total on the card. Otherwise I would either do the numbers on the back or nothing at all. I was going to do the numbers, but I just said f^(# it. I didn't have any problems.

We intended to this and forgot....luckily we had no problems at all with names, etc. Luckily all the people with the same name in my family (four!) had been to so many weddings together they knew they had to identify themselves further...

That's what I did and it corresponded to my Guest list - next to each name was a number.

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
We're putting numbers. The other way its good to leave blank is if someone is bringing a specific guest they will sometimes write the name down on the response card so you'll have it for your table cards.

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
It saves on writing the number on the back, but isn't it more work to write the name? not sure why you say it 'saves' on writing the number when it is more work. we wrote #'s on back, also, what if someone wants to be called something different (Miss vs Ms), they would write it on the response card.

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
If you're doing it for the purpose of saving yourself from not having to write the number on the back of the card, it's a little counterproductive. It takes a LOT longer to write out each guests name then it does to number rsvp cards

I was about to write this same thing...thanks Eileen! Plus, it's a little 'presumptious' or so I was told (trust me, I wanted to do this too!) so I just numbered.

I definitely think the number thing works better. It's less obvious and it takesw a lot less time

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
Thanks girls. It was just something I had thought about b/c I was looking through some old invites (I am a super pack-rat) for wording and such and saw that my FBIL&SIL had written my name on the RSVP. Oh, and I still have the RSVP b/c 1-they did not put a stamp on it 2-I got the invite hand delivered 5 days prior to the RSVP date and 3-she told me not to send it b/c she knew I was coming.
Yeah, I thought about it, #ing would SO be less time than writing names!
It's been a LONG week!

Re: Question/Poll about Response Cards
I made my own RSVP cards, so I did put the names on for most of my guests. The only ones I didn't do it for where the ones who were 'and guest' that way they could fill in the person's name. Seems to be working very well so far.
