From what I heard you can tip the Maitre D anywhere from $100-$500 (I know someone who actually tipped $1,000!!) depending on the amount of service you receive from them.
I feel the same way about having to tip them seperate when gratuities are already included with the hall but these people are with you all night and make sure you are taken care of.
toni i feel the same way..our BM said 2-3 dollars per guest.. i think well thats crazy..i dont know ill have to see how she is that night but i have a bridal attendant and a maitre D..so do i have to tip both?

Oh trust me I understand exactly what you mean!
I asked my friend who recently got married about the whole tipping thing and she said that the Maitre D does so much for you through the night that you'll actually want to give them a tip! They do everything from making sure you sit to eat to fixing the bussle on your dress and everything in between.
I guess it could kinda be compared to when you get your nails done...you tip them even though its their job and if they do it really nice you toss a dollar or two more to them. ok well maybe not exactly like that but you get the idea![]()

Well if its not in the contract why do we have to tip her even more?

Yes I agree...but I'm not doing the $2 to 3 a plate because I'm going to have probably 400+ guest
