This sounds so sad and crazy. If my best friend got engaged around the same time as me i would be soo happy for her and she and i would have a blast being able to talk wedding stuff. She does joke that she doens't want to get engaged until after I have planned my wedding so that I can then help her fully, lol.

Why would someone expect your boyfriend to clear a proposal to you with them just because they had recently gottten engaged. That is CRAZY! I would not want to find out later that i could have been engaged sooner but my best friend didn't want me to be and then my boyfriend actually listened. This all sounds wicked selfish to me.

I am sorry you lost a friend over something like this, but better now to find out how petty she is that the two of you could not be happy together.

Neither FH should have had to clear anything with the other before proposing, IMO. What if both chose that particular date for a certain reason? Who should concede? It would get too messy for no reason.

Both women should be equally happy for each other and if that's not the case (which it obviously wasn't), then I'm not sure what kind of friendship it was to begin with.

I have not spoken to hear since Jan. the night we had this argument.. and i do not plan on talking to her anytime soon either... i was really hurt bc i thought we were great friends..i quess not

Thats a very silly thing to end a friendship over. You should share each others happiness!

Maybe you want to try and be the bigger person and write her a letter telling her your feelings and that you want to share in the most important times in BOTH your lives.. Tell her there is no reason why your friendship should end bc of this.. JMO.. I am sorry that this happened to you, I would be crushed if I lost my best friend over the happiest time in your life..
