quick review from b-party this saturday
its over!!! lol. but seriously, planning was a pain. but thankfully everything went really well
for those still looking at planning things, here are a few places we went that i would recommend
1. Spa Ja. it is a spa by columbus circle. the service was AMAZINGGGG. they basically let us take over the spa. we were able to bring in food/cupcakes/champagne. they helped to store things in the fridge, put the champagne on ice for us, and brought us the plastic champagne flutes. which was awesome!! b/c we didnt even ask for any of this in advance. they were so nice to us and let us just sit, drink, chat. we definitely ran over our 'alloted' times, but they were great. they also offered the party 25% off all services, which helped a ton! and by payin cash we saved on tax. oh, and then at the end, they gave the bride a gift bag with a BUNCH of body products!! very very very sweet. everyone seemed to enjoy their services/massages/treatments too. i have been to a lot of spas, so i thought my massage was good (but not OMG amazing). but coupled with the service, i would say this spa was excellent and i would highly highly recommend them!
2. Clo Bar - its a high-tech wine bar in columbus circle. depending on the wine you get, its pricey. but you are really going there for the location and for the techy-ness of it all. they have an information menu on the table that you find stuff by waving your hand (a la 'minority report') and you select your wine by puting in a card and pressinng a button. so its like a vending machine. it was a fun stop-over between places.
3. latitude - always a good place to go when in midtown. and the best part is that even on saturdays they have happy hour till 10pm!! and they make the drinks STRONG!! so for $4-5 per drink, we were pretty toasty for a while! worth the stop!
4. tony and tina's wedding - this is my 4th time going. its always a good time. but i must say, they switched locations recently and the new place is a lot smaller and more cramped feeliing. also, i have never been before when there was sooooo many bridal parties!!! it was a bit ridiculous! every other time i went it was a nice mix of girls/guys, which is helpful for some of the jokes they try to do. but this saturday was like 90% bridal parties so it was all females and lots of girls with sashes and veils. thankfully we dressed my friend appropriately so she fit right in
....after that we just went to a bar that is not worth writing about....so i wont
but overall, i think it was a success. RD is thursday and her wedding in saturday (and, yeah, i dont fit into the bridesmaid dress
).
