Someone just made a very unnecessary racial comment. Me and this other girl who sits in the front office with me were saying goodnight to this jewish girl in my office who has to be home for passover I believe and we asked her if the other girl who sits next to her and is also jewish if she was leaving and she told us that she was staying until 5. So the girl who sits next to me said 'Oh I thought you all had to be home early'. She didn't mean that in a harmful way but this girl that was leaving was like 'That's a racial thing to say'. So they start having this 'discussion' about racial comments and then as she was getting in the elevator she goes 'don't be jealous of us, we killed jesus'

I could not believe my ears! My friend that sits next to me was like 'did she just say what I think she did, oh wait till tomorrow morning i'm gonna call her a murderer'.

Ok, I agree with that statement. I just think that saying that 'we killed Jesus' is way out of line and needs to be addressed. And of course, we are not trying to incite a race riot or anything, but she needs to be put in her place.

This has NOTHING to do with Race?

Its a religious-bias statement instead, perhaps.

But all 'RACES' have Jews.

Not to justify what happened, but I can see where someone(an extremely sensitive someone) might think that the statement 'Oh I thought you all had to be home early' was a jab at them. I know that it was not the way your co-worker meant it, but it could be misunderstood. It sounds like a misunderstanding to me. I think that you should sit down and calmly have a discussion about the incident.

Well my friend explained it to her that she didn't mean it in any way, so she just took it to another extreme and said what she did. She thinks she's funny, annoying wench!

We'll see what happens tomorrow.

It sounds like she was looking for a reason to make a beotchy comment. I'd drop it and chalk it up to her being ignorant. If I told you some of the things I've been told in my life, you'd cringe and I don't even LOOK that Puerto Rican.

Wow it always amazes me how low people will go when they don't have an intelligent thing to say.....

I don't believe it was a racist comment either..the girl has got to get her vocab down..It was anti-semetic comment

Because that would just keep the drama going.

The girl obviously said it to spite the other girl who said 'don't you all have to go home early'.

First off, that's not a racial comment. Maybe it could have been phrased better but it's just an inquiry. She didn't say it like 'oh yeah Jews get to leave work early today'. The other girl was just looking for something to argue about and that was it.

I would totally ignore it when she comes in because I'm betting she's looking for someone to make a comment and not to comment will piss her off more.

and only people who do the holiday thing must be home or are religous...

She is an embarrassment to all the religious jewish people out there. She hasn't spoken a word to us today and I prefer to keep it that way. That way if she says something then she will be the one starting the arguement and making herself look bad.
