I have been pretty open with invitations to our wedding...we are including nearly everyone's kids, and people's significant others...but I want to draw the line at that. FH thinks if someone is over a certain age they should be invited with a guest. I think that if they aren't dating someone by the time the invites go out, they shouldn't. Am I wrong? I just don't want random people at my wedding

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
i disagree w/ your FH. weddings are expensive and you don't want any random person at your wedding. You don't want to look back at your photos and be like - who the eff was that person?!?!?! It's supposed to be a celebration w/ your friends and families - not randoms
tell him NO

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
We invited people in relationships with guests and thats it
A few called and asked if they would bring a guest, and we were doing well with nos, so we said yes

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
I agree - no randoms. I don't want people scrounging up a date just to bring to our wedding. I want to know all the faces that are there whenI look around.

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
I'm sorry but I kinda agree with your FH on this one. We invited anyone over the age of 18 with a guest but that worked with the amount of people we were planning on inviting. If I was way over the amount I wanted to invite then I may have reconsidered it.

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
Our venue only holds so many, and we didn't want it to feel crowded
So we either had to cut close friends so people could be invited with randoms or we could invite all of our close friends

I agree with your FH.
Its insulting to be an adult and not invited with a guest.

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
The 'and guest' list is at 20 people right now...that's almost two tables of random people I've never met. I feel that if they really want to bring someone, they'll ask...

Is is less or more insulting not to be invited at all to a friend's wedding because other people got guests?
It worked for us because people are coming in large groups of single friends

I agree with this. We are only allowing guests if you are married or in a serious relationship. We are not going to go broke on inviting random people

Re: Random People at the Wedding?
Looks like it doesn't really matter either way, FH's mind is set on inviting everybody and their mother.

We did let our friends know, though, before the invites were sent out
