random poll about pocketbooks

I've always ahd bags thaty cost $25 and under and I used them forever. I finally deciced I wanted a nice bag. I was going to get a coach, but they all seemed too trendy this year, so I wanted something more classic and I treated myself to a small LV bag. I originally wanted the cherries oone which was $355. Instead I went for the plain one and wit the extra money bought a arge michael kors tote on clearace. Anyway,those are the only designer handbags I've ever had. I spent $40 on a kenneth cole once, but that was the absolute most. other than that I have $28 snow white bag from WDW.

After the wedding, when things calm down and we ahve money, I want a full size LV bag. But I don't relaly have designer anything, so it's my one treat

Sorry not an 06 girl but I couldnt not post on this one!!! I am a bag ADDICT!!!!
When I first met my DH at the ripe old age of 18 he bought me my first Gucci bag with an $800 price tag!!!
At first I wouldn't even accept it. Now I have dropped $650 on another Gucci bag and just last month got this bag from coach for $400. Then I made DH buy me the matching wallet for another $200
Its all my DH's fault!!!! Before him I was happy with a $50 bag from TJ maxx!!! Now I am a bag snob!!! Now I have Gucci, LV, Fendi, and coach. Even my 2 diaper bags.. one is coach the other is kate spade
There is something wrong with me!
But like someone else said I dont smoke or drink coffee. So the money most people piss away at that stuff everyday I save up and use it twords one big nice purchase.
And I wont spend 'big money' on a bag more then once a year. I do agree its a better 'investment' then buying 6 $50 bags a year like I used to.

the most expensive bag I bought on my own was my Coach 'Teacher bag' (around $200) i got it at the outlets and used coupons!!! But i use it everyday to bring it to school, so i have definatety got my moneys worth... other than that i dont spend much on bags..

My Kate Spade 'teacher' bag is one of my most expensive ($275). But like you said, I get a lot of use out of it. And two years later, I still get so many compliments on it!

i have two gucci bags. One my sister bought me for my bday last year for about 700+. the other one my FH bought me for our anniversary (8 years) it was about 700+.

I would never have bought them myself because i have no money
especially now that i turned over my entire savings account to my catering hall.

They are great gifts. i just love shoes and bags. I dont buy any clothes (most of the time my sister just gives me her clothes after she gets tired of them). So my two bags make me feel really good :)
but really it does not matter cuz like anything else you get tired of them after a few months.

I must be Mc-cheap cheap too. I usually spend 20-40 on a bag. I also wait until I go to Little Italy and Chinatown for a knockoff. I like nice bags but am selective. I have a coach wrist purse, that was gift and search on e-bay for a nice bag. I just can't see spending that much on a bag. But to each his own. I also get compliments on my knockoff bags and when they ask I tell them that it is a fake. So I guess I have a good eye

i'm a certified bag addict!! well before this wedding, i was.. I have several LV and Gucci bags.. i try to wear it a lot to justify the cost..

so tonight, chris and i were at a wake for his mom's cousins father. and there was a young girl (20-21) there with a huge coach bag. so we get to talking about how much it probably costs..fast forward to me going to coach.com and discovering that the bag is well over $300!!! now, i have a coach bag, i have a few actually. one purse that i bought for myself and i have 3 wristlets, one was a gift and one and a half i bought with a gc from christmas. anyhoo, the one i bought myself almost caused world war 3 because it was over $100, relatively inexpensive for Coach, but WAYYY to expensive for cheapy mc cheap-cheap. so my question to you is this: how much have you or would you spend on a purse?? it can be anonymous, but we are all friends here, this is just me being nosey. i don't think i could spend more then $200 on a purse, but i know some LV bags literally run into the thousands

How about this? I teach ninth and tenth graders and the other day I noticed one of my students had a beautiful coach bag. It was so cute. I asked her if it was real and she practically rolled her eyes behind her head and said yes. And then I asked her how much it was and she told me $320. I nearly hit the floor. She then told me her boyfriend who is also in ninth grade bought it for her. I couldn't believe it. I mean I like my designer bags but I am 27.

I bought a Coach at an outlet the day after I got engaged as a present to myself. It wasn't bad, a little over $200. Usually I don't spend that much but I said what the hell.

WHAT??? my 14 year old will be lucky to get the $20 knock-off. $320 for a purse, she's 14!! what is she carrying, gold?? but, sadly, i see more and more younger girls, and i mean, like 12 and 13 carrying designer, expensive handbags. i don't like that trend at all.
