Do any of you girls plan on doing anything special for Valentine's day for your FH? I want to cause its our first since we got engaged but on the other hand were are on a major budget saving for the wedding. A little torn on what to do. I know its a commericalize holiday but for some reason I still like celebrating it. I orignally wanted to do something really romantic like a short weekend away either montauk or poconos just to have some serious alone time without 10,000 other things to do lol. But after looking at the costs I was like maybe just a card lol? What are you ladies doing?

I love valentines day. Not that we ever do anything super special but I enjoy it. I always want to do something like go away but everything is so overpriced around that time of year. I think we will most likely go out to dinner, maybe a movie, I also dont want to spend more then $50 on each other if we do decide to do gifts. The wedding and our future is my #1 priority so I am really trying to cut back wherever we can.

Last year we went to the city..went to the museum of natural history and our favorite restaurant and I'm sure we'll do something similar this year. Nothing crazy since we are trying to save!

Neither of us are really into Valentine's Day, but he still sends me flowers every year. I don't know, maybe I'll cook him a nice dinner this year. Some years we'll go out to eat, but I think I'd rather save the money this year and just do something nice for him. I cook a lot of the time, but maybe I'll try something new!

Ugh I hate Valentine's day lol. I never had a good one till I met FH. We go out to a nice dinner usually the week of to avoid crowds. On the actual day we always go to Hooter's for wings lol. Not very romantic but it's become a tradition with a backstory from our first V-day together haha

We don't usually do anything crazy, the first two years we were dating we went to Broadway shows, but mostly we cook dinner together, watch movies and drink wine lol. FH bought me tickets to see Cinderella on Broadway for my birthday and they happen to be for V-Day weekend so we're going to go out to eat at our favorite restaurant, The London, and stay at the hotel there for the night. Totally not what we should be spending our money on, oh well!

FH and I will be in Florida enjoying a vacation that my cousin bought our plane tickets for because she wanted to do something nice for our engagement.. so she's sending us to visit her! :) not making any plans because I'll let my cousin decide what she wants to do and as long as I'm in the warm sun with a coconut flavored drink, I won't care!

Kaw2be that is so cute. It's not so odd I have been to hooters on valentine's day before lol. MsErikaLynn I am jealous I would love to get away from the cold and on a beach. Can't complain to much cause it was close to 50 today it could be much worse.

We usually cook dinner and that's about it... I was actually thinking about a mini stay-cation, maybe in Montauk but more towards March.

FH and I do the same thing since we have been driving pretty much. We go to the melting pot the saturday after valentines day every year!! :) it is amazing! we usually spend like 4 hours there! lol its amazing and its a splurge but its the one nice dinner we go to each year!!! :) and even though we are on a major savings plan, we will do it again this year!

Re: Random question
Our anniversary is 2/12 (3 years next month, woohoo!) so we always combine the two events and do something special. This year we combined presents for his birthday (November), Christmas, our anniversary, Valentines Day, AND my birthday (April) so we could go to Punta Cana for a week! We rarely give each other gifts anymore unless its something small because we like to save the money for traveling, and now wedding expenses!

Last year we did a valentines day couples cooking class!! It was a lot of fun but kinda pricey. So I think this year will be more low key since we are saving. I will probably cook him dinner and cuddle up and watch a movie!

Re: Random question
Why don't you guys have a nice romantic evening in? Cook each other dinner, maybe watch a movie or something? A romantic evening doesn't have to be expensive!

I would but we live in my parents basement while we save for the wedding and we share a kitchen so it would be more like our usual nights where I cook for everyone lol and not really romantic. We are rarely ever alone in the house the only alone time we get is when we are in our room lol. He puts up with a lot cause my mom is a bit much to take lol so I just wanted to do something nice for him but not break the bank lol.Welcome New Vendors
