Random wedding Q?

i only have my DJ/Band and RH thats it... besides booking vendors what else can be done this far ahead of time?>

I was an '09 bride and I was very into planning August -Sept. All I had booked was a DJ, but I had narrowed it down to 3 photographer, 2 florists, and 2 limo companies. Then FH lost his job and I stopped planning for a bit to try and wait it out.

My sis is getting married in May and I am her MOH and dealing with planning her shower, picking out dresses, etc.

We are also moving in January, and planning a 60th birthday party for my mom in jan. I am quite relieved to not have the added stress of trying to plan my wedding on top of all of this.

So, I don't think I need to even think about my wedding again until after my sister's wedding in May. Makes it a lot easier for me. Plus, by June I think I will maybe have lost another 20+ lbs and I won't feel so terrible about trying on wedding gown again.

I know you meant this about vendors, but the thinkg that concerns me is my grandma and FH's dad still being around. My grandma is in amazing health, but she is 84. And FH's dad is doing OK now, but during the summer we thought he might go at any time.

As for vendors, I find that LIW girls tend to book alot of things too early. Maybe because we have alot more info to go on and we get excited talking to brides who are coming before us.

haha yeah i know! thats why we are starting to do it now, but just focusing on one thing at a time. Starting with music...then photo...etc. I dont feel like I need to get it all done at once.

this is totally true.. if you have a specific vendor in mind just book them.. i wanted a specific DJ but they were booked for july 2010 back in August 08!! crazy i know but its true..

ended up working out bc i found a DJ i like better
