Rant about a photographer

I just got a call back from a potential photographer...he was a jerk I hung up on him!
He was so obnoxious. All I wanted was some pricing info and to know if they did parent albums
(its hard to go see every vendor since we have 2 kids)
and he was like tell me what you are spending and I said well tell me what you charge. and he went on and on about Building million dollar houses and then 10 thousand dollar house ....then he started to complain about my reception hall etc.
He was like in this business you tell me what you are spending then I tell you what I will do for that price
I have seen a lot of photo already that isnt how it works ugh

well I don't wanna say who it was on the boards because I wouldnt wanna make anyone feel bad if they are using them if you wanna know fm me...they are a vendor on here though
No one is using them that I can tell because I have asked 10 times and no one has said they are

I had a similar experience, but I wasted my time by actually going to see the jerk... drove all the way there, and he wouldn't even tell me his pricing plan... told me that if I had to ask about prices, he was the wrong photographer for me and that his work is an art... asked who else we were looking at and then proceeded to slam every one of them.. so we got up to leave, and all of a sudden then he's willing to show us some prices... then, a week later, he called me, and I told him, I guess you're right... I guess we just aren't 'artsy' people, so we're going with someone else... then the moron called again 2 weeks later... totally forgot the whole conversation... I'm surpised this guy still gets business!

Sounds like his typical jive... I wasted my time driving all the way out to port also...

When they called back later asking why I didnt go with them, I told it was because your boss is an a$$

I would have told him that if that's how he thinks the 'business works' then he is in the wrong business. If he was truly into the art-he wouldn't be shooting weddings. $$$$

Also, you are the business, without your business-he would be out of business!!!

Did I mention the word 'business yet?'

I think I know who it is also and I didn't have a good experience either! It was such a waste of time. FI and I were walking around port jeff trying to find him and afterwards we were like what a waste! And he just was so strange! Oh, well. Sorry about your experience.

I think I totally know who you're talking about. I met with him with my mom, then with my FH and after meeting him 2x, talking on the phone 2x, he still had NO CLUE who I was. He kept pressuring us to leave a deposit and also badmouthed other photographers we were looking at. We decided we definitely could NOT go with someone who made us that uncomfortable. Sorry about the bad experience. Nice photographs, really bad people skills.

I have a feeling I know who it is too. When my DH and I went to meet with this person my DH was so turned off by him he wanted to walk out. I really loved the pictures and I didn't want to be rude. We just left with a creepy feeling.
