I just really have to throw something out there because im not sure if im theonly one that may feellike this. Money discussions. When people ask what you have spent etc. i really dont have a problem being honest because i feel what spend is my business i work hard & FH works very hard & whatever i spend is my business. But it irks the hell out of me when people try to one up or make others feel bad about their own money. WHAT DO YOU CARE??? Its not your money & if i wantto spend 10 bucks or 100000 bucks on a pair of shoes or my invites or whatver who r u to say its ridiculous??? I feel like saying SHUT UP!
NOT TO MENTION when people actually say how much they have made back or whatever is so super tacky! I mean really, who ever says that? It shows thats all you really care about! OF COURSE WE MAKE IT BACK BUT I DONT NEED TO KNOW THAT YOU DID. DUH!

RELAX GIRLS! lol Its just a generalization from a conversation in real life not forum life that made me begin to think how people on here and in real life sometimes get. Im NOT creating drama im just making a statement that honestly annoys the heck out of me! I was wondering if i was the only one who feels this way. you have a right to be annoyed. thats why i don't talk to people about my wedding. most people who are nosy are only looking for info to throw back in my face. unless you are helping me pay for my wedding in some way then you don't need to know my business. secondly anyone who tells you they made all there money back is probably lying to you because 9 out of 10 times you don't make even half of your money back cause if you think about it, most people aren't thinking about paying you back for spending 100 bucks so they can eat. its nice to make a good profit but if that is what these ppl are depending on when they get married then they are in for a rude awakening.

Do your thing and don't waste your precious energy on miserable people who wish they could have the wedding your gonna have! It's not even worth it.

Thank you sooo much for posting this. I think its a huge double standard on this website---people can talk all they want about saving money and getting something for a deal but the minute someone talks about splurging on something or getting something that they want that may be expensive---a lot of people get offensive.
I've learned to either keep away form those $$$ posts or post anyway and hopefully people just read my opinions and move on without drama.

I also agree. Money topics I feel always turn into a huge thing too!
Everyone has different opinions on what they think is the most important aspect of there wedding. For me its Photos but for others it flowers, a dress or whatever they feel is important. If someone wants to spent 10,000 on flowers so be it but who am I to say OH MY GOD THATS CRAZY!

the only post i saw about money was the eparty thread....i didnt think anything was said but i also could have missed it or something...i see both sides of the story here...people choose to spend their money differently and thats ok...absolutely!

Why would the E-Party thread cause this thread to come out? I mean, the girl who posted the E-Party thread was asking how much people paid for their party. Why would that be a big deal? Everyone spends their money differently and to be honest, who cares? I don't get why people get so angry over this topic- it's effing ridiculous!

I am splurging on my wedding and I have been honest about a lot of it here (sometimes I try to avoid the money talk b/c I know that I am lucky to be able to do that without worrying about how to pay for it).
On the other hand I am still savvy about some things - I could have bought the $$$$$ dress I originally wanted but I kicked it down a notch and found something just as nice.
Nobody on here has ever commneted about it or made me feel bad for it. Everyone has been so nice. I am trying to get deals were I can but I also work 12-14 hours a day most times and am paying for 100% of this solo so I don't feel bad about it.
I am jealous of the girls who can do it for less and I apprecaite the tips and advice they give me. I don't have as much time for DIY and shopping around so this site has been a saving grace in the last month or two as I have been slower at work.
There are splurgers and budgeters here and we all help and respect each other - for the most part!
And honestly - if is spend less, I will be closer to buying a fabulous house post - wedding!

i agree 100% too. right there with you Kristina. I try to find deals but do not have all the time in world and not too crafty so do the best I can when it ocmes to prices and what my work scheudule allows

Completely agree with you. and that's why i stopped answering questions about how much this or that cost to my friends or family cause i don't need their bs. if it's a stranger i really don't care what they think or say but i don't need to hear it from people that i'm close with.

I dont get why anyone needs to judge others based on what they did or did not spend. Just dont take everything people say to heart. I mean, I know that if I could afford to have an outrageous wedding i would but that would not make me judge someone else for making their dreams come true.
You should have the wedding that you can afford and we should all be able to discuss it without drama. After all isnt this site about helping each other and not trying to one up everyone.
We all cant be the same and that is what makes each of our wedding our own..
We should all enjoy planning our weddings without letting other peoples opinions annoy, bother or offend us.

I agree with you ladies....$$$ topic is a bit sensitive b/c it is up to the ladies that respond how they are going to respond about the topic.
What we have to remember is that this is a forum to share ideas and info that may be beneficial to others and not to brag about how much $$$$ you have or made b/c its true, nobody really cares.
My FH and I are on a budget and we're putting together a fabulous event...at least we think so. but to us $$$ is no object on what really matters to us and i agree, its no ones business.
Therefore, ladies....let's try to keep this forum interesting, informative but most of all, friendly so at least we can get something out of it at the end - A GREAT WEDDING EXPERIENCE!
There's is nothing wrong w/ guidance....but please do not brag to make others feel bad.
