My family has a house in Southold and the summers out there are BEAUTIFUL! I actually looked into Raphael, but it was too small to accommodate all of our guests! If you look up some reviews on Raphael you'll be able to see some really gorgeous pictures of brides that got married there this summer!

I would DEFINITELY go with Raphael...in my opinion Sand Castle does not even compare to Raphaels. My sister's friend for married there and it was AMAZING. the food, the ambiance...it's so pretty. I'm partial to Vineyards, but if I were choosing, I would pick Raphaels. Sand Castle is too plain for me, even though it looks like a Castle, your guests will definitely remember your Raphael Vineyard wedding.

Re: Raphael Winery for reception??
I am in love with the Sand Castle. I have been there for numerous events and each time surpasses the last! The food is unbelievable, the filet migon melts in your mouth there i can say its the best i have ever had. the grand ballroom fits the amount of people you want perfectly. my friend had 300 and we were perfect in there. we had a large cocktail hour everything was excellent, you have to go there on an empty stomache. my friend had these video screens that had live video of the wedding, i was part of the bridal party and we took photos in the gardens outdoors her photos were so pretty it looks like you were in a park. if i were you i would totally pick the Sand Castle. Each time i have gone its been A plus plus. she also took their honeymoon package to greece she had her own private pool you should definelty go here. she was more then statisfied for her wedding. i am actually planning to have mine there too! I am looking the weekend after you, i just have to go get prcing and dates. good luck let me know what you decide

Re: Raphael Winery for reception??
for 180-200, is tight for Raphael.
If you want a buffet Raphael can fit 200 tops they say,
for a sit down dinner they say don't go over 180.
I am partial to Raphael (hmm wonder why) but if you are having over 180 and want elbow room, I would look elsewhere, unless, you decide to do it European style and have dinner in the renaissance room and dancing in the tasting room. then, I would say go for Raphael.

Re: Raphael Winery for reception??
My friend did her ceremony and reception there in June of 05, and it was gorgous!!! The food and service were great, and the place was clean and beautiful. She was very happy w/ it. I don't know if they always do a buffet there, but that's how her dinner was, (I think she might have saved $) I've never been to Sand Castle to compare, but Raphaels was great!

Raphael ! I went to a wine tasting there a few weeks ago and it was beautiful. Why do a traditional catering hall?
