I wanted to rave about something new I used recently and how great it worked for me, so thought maybe i'd find out about other products people use that are amazing.
Ok i have VERY thin hair, and have used NUMEROUS products that say they give you volume and they really dont. Recently I used one that seriously gave me so much volume, never used anything that did it this well. My hair is so thin that i HAVE to wash it everyday bc it gets oily and looks bad. Today i woke up and it still had so much volume and looked great and not oily at all so decided to FINALLY give my hair a rest from washing it for one day. You're not supposed to but i normally have no choice.
I used Kerastase-expanseur extra-corps. Its thickening action for weakened hair.
Also use the Kerastase bain volume shampoo and then after put on this other kerastase thing called ciment anti-usure, its a fortifying treatment.
Also alterna hemp shampoo and conditioner is AMAZING. When i use the alterna shampoo or kerastase shampoo its such a huge difference when doing my hair after, usually it takes longer to do bc of the ends but with this the hair looks great and dont have to do much with it.
also loving the bare minerals faux tan bronzer.
Ok thats it for me lol, wanna hear about other products ppl are using. I figure as women we are always looking for new hair products, make up, skincare

I love Avalon Organic Shampoo with tee tree oil from this natural store in Astoria. And I recently bought a conditioner called Organix and it has tee tree oil in it too. Those two things together make my hair so soft. And it actually dries nice.
OOoo what natural store in astoria?

My hair is horribly thin. I have the same problem with the oilyness that you have. Where did you buy the shampoo?
mostly you find kerastase at salons, thats where i got it from. I am sure it should be available online too. Just make sure you use a little bit for example whehn you shampoo your hair, sometimes i have a habit of just putting a bunch of it in my hand and being too much. But kerastase is pricey so with this i make sure to only put as much as i need hahaha. Doesnt help that on top of being pricey the bottles are small too, but normally i go through big bottles very quickly, doesnt last a month. The kerastase shampoo ive had since june and still have it. Ive also been alternating between kerastase and alterna so thats why lasted longer

GREAT thread! Okay. here goes.
My best kept secret: BABY OIL! It is super cheap but it is great. I rub it on my legs before shaving and I get a SUPER smooth shave. After a shower I rub it all over and then rinse off quick and I have the best skin! Just be careful because it makes the shower slippery.
I LOVE NARS casino bronzer and NARS o-gasm blush.
DDF Acne Scrub. I used this on my back for a long time but now it stopped working ( after years ) it takes the redness out of pimples right away and then slowly gets rid of them. I also use the Neutrogena Acne scrub which works great as well.
Oil of Olay - my mom is 60 and has ZERO wrinkles because of this stuff so I use it every morning and every night!
I won't recommend anything for hair since my hair looks like POOP right now LOL
OH! and bringing it to the house stuff. When I use windex I now only use it with OLD NEWSPAPER. No streaks and NO fuzzies from the paper! Try it!!
WOW you put baby oil on BEFORE shaving, interesting tip. I want to try this. I have to admit im one of those ppl who were afraid of using baby oil bc i'd look too oily and id feel greasy. But i was reading recently to do it as soon as you get out of the shower and not to worry about these things it will dry. I see some women who have these real shiny legs and wonder what they do and im going to guess baby oil

i have the same annoying hair as you lol. i haaate having to wash everyday. i literally get oily hair in less than 24 hrs. i love my hair straight so of course i have to blow it out everyday too unless i just put some mousse and let it air dry. im going to have to try those products soon.
what do you put in your hair before blowing btw?
i use the kerastase expanseur extra corps i mentioned. Its a spray, and they say just to spray your hair from roots to ends while its still wet and then blow dry your hair
Hey Denise...I have hair exactly like yours (i cannot wait to do the newlywed chop it is sooo dead haha) and I hate washing my hair everyday because I have to. So I definitely am going to try this stuff...thanks for the rec! Just a question though- where can I find this stuff?? In Sephora or a drugstore or an actual salon?
i wonder if sephora does have it im trying to think if i ever saw it in there but not sure...you can check the site...def not a drugstore, maybe beauty supply store. I would check salons near you, its the most common place to find it. Whenever ive bought kerastase its been from a salon. If not online somewhere they have to sell it

OMG I thought i was the only one.. I have to use this concoction of things before I shave. I too use BABY OIL, it just gets rid of the dryness of the pores. THis is the reason u get razor burn. I put it on a while b4 i shave. When i get into the shower I then use these rough scrub gloves to lift the hairs off the skins surface, and then shave.....
It really works....
i always use baby oil right when i'm done showering; i have the softest skin because of it.

No, I couldn't find it in Sephora. I got it at Ricky's in the city. They have a website though...I was on this morning. I think you can order...and you get two free samples!

I have a few:
1- Arbonne aromatherapy sea salt scrub. I sell Arbonne and do the parties and stuff so maybe I'm partial, but this stuff makes your hands, feet, whole body feel amazingly soft!
2- Bed Head- After party... makes your hair like silk and it smells SO good. It's a little pricey but all you need is a tiny drop of it.
3- Kurig 1-cup coffee maker... I cannot wait to get mine!

YUP! sometimes I use the baby oil gel bc its neater. And when you are done with your shower you are always supposed to use freezing cold water in your hair and on your body. On your body to close your pores but on your hair to make it shiny. I use the blast of cold water to take off the extra baby oil so its not TOO oily!
AND I use the baby oil together with intution razors! That is for special occasions though becase it clogs the razor and you cant use it more than 2x. I call that my 'sex shave' LOL!

baby oil gel? i didnt even know about that hahaha i have to get this next time i go to CVS. YES i do the same thing with my hair and have been for sooo many years. I saw this on tv once how the cold water closes the hair follicles so helps with frizzy hair. So when i condition my hair i use cold water to rinse it out.

ProActiv 3 Step. I only use all 3 steps once a day though. Otherwise it's too harsh on my face.
Clinique All About Eyes Rich. I have VERY dark circles under my eyes and this seems to work pretty well on lightening them up.
MAC Full Coverage Foundation. I KNOW MAC is bad for you bc it's not non comedogenic, but, I love it.
Frederic Fekkai Full Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. Probably the BEST shampoo and conditioner for fine hair that I have ever used. Fekkai really makes some of the best hair products. They're a lil pricey though.
Philosophy 3 in 1's. Any and all. I am in <3 with these.
Escada Limited Edition Fragrances. Anyone that knows me knows that these are my signature scents. LOL. They make one limited edition every year and they always come in this really pretty heart shaped bottle and they always smell tropical.
Why is MAC bad for you?

i think she meant just that its not non-comedogenic, usually for your face its best to use non-comedogenic products especially for anybody that might breakout easily. Thats why if you go to the dermatoligist they tell you to use products and face wash that are non-comedogenic such as cetaphil

Re: Rave about your favorite products
I cant believe i forgot about this. Ok before i used the kerastase spray which was recent, i have been using something else for my hair for years now and works AMAZING. My problem is that i always have frizzy hair and little flyaways, it ALWAYS used to look like a disaster within an hour of doing my hair. My hairstylist gave me this product to use, at first i was confused since its a recoil for curly hair, but she said it will help with my frizzy problem and usually products for curly hair ppl will work better for this.I was even hesitant to try the kerastase bc for years ive been using this one product, so wouldnt try it until i was staying home and not going anywhere bc didnt want to take the chance. This product is great to for frizzy hair and those little flyaways, gives you that nice smooth look. You put it in your hair while its still wet, and dont put too much of it. Dh uses it sometimes when he wants to use it as a gel and will use alot of it. But for soft smooth hair just a little throughout the hair.the brand is AG hair cosmetics, i use the recoil. They say AG is also great for ppl with curly hair so curly hair ppl this might help
ive only seen it at salons and can be hard to find. Here is their website
eta: i have straight hair so dont need it for this, but just saw on the site they have something for curly hair ppl to help straight your hair and keep it smooth when you straighten it

I love Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo. I used to have to wash my hair every day, but now I use this and can stretch it out to every three days, and it looks super fresh every day in between! In fact I love all the Oscar Blandi products... I'm totally addicted.
I also love Kinerase Intensive Eye Cream. I used to have horrible dark circles under my eyes and started getting fine lines, but I started using this in December, and now all the lines have disappeared and I don't have to wear under eye concealer anymore.
I am sure anything oscar blandi is amazing. I would love to go to the salon and get my hair done there hahaha. He was on shear genius recently
My best friend is actually the East coast sales manager for the product line (that's how I got turned onto the products), and she gets her hair done by him and it always looks so amazing, I'm super jealous!
Oooo i am jealous too hahaha, they are supposed to be real good with color. I think thats where jessica simpson and many others go for color
Oh, I thought Jessica Simpson went to Rita Hazan. I wish I could have either one do my hair!
She does. I got my hair done there once and Rita often flies to wherever Jessica is to do her color.

I thought I was the only one who had to wash her hair everyday! It's soo annoying, but if I don't do it....it feels disgusting to me!
