Re: RD in Port Jeff
I love Pasta Pasta but I would just call to make sure you can have a RD there cause I know its kinda small. Ruvo is a great space so that might work... what about Paces? Its right next to Ruvo.Maybe Danfords? They have a new lounge/restaurant called wave...it seems pretty nice..the decor is gorgeous!
Or you could do my personal fav and go to Billies
Yummyyyyyy!!!!!! (its a bar...so dont go there for your RD....just in case you didnt know)
Elk Street closed and now its something else... I forgot what though! Ughhh I was just down port 3 weeks ago.
ETA: The food at pasta pasta is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ruvo: I'm not too crazy about the food there...and I think they are over priced....but who knows. I could have gone on an off night with the food.
Paces: Yummy steaks!

Elk Street is closed down it is not a place called Tequilla Jacks, which has so so food.I would also check out The Fifth Season, which is right across the street from Danfords....they have great food, and their menu changes with the seasons, so there are lots of fun choices!

Re: RD in Port Jeff
I'm having my RD at Danford's. We were going to check out the other restaurants on your list, which I love, but they wouldn't do a private party on a saturday night. (My wedding is on a sunday).Danford's is offerring us an amazing selection for the price, and since my sister works there we're getting a 10% discount. So my future in-laws are splurging for open bar!!
Good luck!

I love love love Ruvo. We're having our RD at Ruvo. I've never had anything from Ruvo that I didn't like and I think that the atmosphere is very nice. I'd highly recommend it.

Pasta Pasta is delicious. My mom had called for my bridal shower and they had a high minimum I think 45 people. Like everyone said Paces is amazing but its expensive.

Re: RD in Port Jeff
I am partial to Danfords because it is my RH
the new restaurant there is called Wave and it is gorgeous.Ruvo: I agree with Barbie, their food has gone down and their prices have been jacked up.
Pasta Pasta: awesome awesome but I doubt they will do a private party on a Saturday night
Elk Street: did close, sadly.... it was wonderful
Another (probably very expensive) option would be Pace's Steakhouse but I do not know what their prices are like.
There is also Mario's in East Setauket that handles large parties, recently reopened and redesigned, food is pretty good and the prices are reasonable (from the regular menu, anyway)
a newish place in Port Jeff is 'The Fifth Season', great spot and the view is great (peeks thru Danfords to the harbor).
If you are a resident of Port Jeff, you can rent out the Village Center (which is really cool) and have the RD catered.
There's also the Village Way ('eh' -- food, not so good)
