Who paid for your RD? Any suggestions for a place in Nassau - near Hempstead. I've been gently suggesting places to my FMIL...i don't yet know if she is offering :)

me & FH are paying for it.... along with everything else in life so it won't be anywhere fancy. Can't afford it with everything else.
Usually it's traditional for the Groom's parents to pay for the rehearsal dinner, because it's technically supposed to be the Bride's Parents paying for the actual Wedding. Nobody really does that anymore though. You're lucky if you DO have parents who can afford to do it for you... or at least help.

Well we didn't say formally FH parents are paying......but they gave us a generous, very generous gift. We are paying for everything else but mostly FH is paying.

We had all intentions of paying for the RD ourselves but my in laws offered to do it. It was a huge help.

My inlaws paid, they insisted
They also sent out the invites and handled the menu and the rsvp's i didnt have anything to do with it, all i had to do was show up!

IL's gave me X amount of money but DH and I planned what/when/where. I also made the rehearsal dinner invites as a DIY. We knew our limitations on the budget and the amount of people we had invited, so DH and I also put some money out of our own pockets. We ended up having it catered and did it at our church immediately following rehearsal. It honestly worked out well because they brought it in and had it set up as we rehearsed - we went right downstairs and had the rest of the evening to eat and relax. It was rather nice having it self -contained
