Re: Re-post

I honestly think it depends on a LOT of things. There have def. been couples who have been through it before and have a stronger love than most couples. It all depends on the two people involved and the situation, and how much work you are each willing to put into it.

Right now, if you are willing to give him a chance, he owes you A LOT! And not just within the next few days, weeks or months..but once your trust has been lost..he is going to have to prove himself over and over all throughout your relationship now..and you DESERVE that. Not saying to bring it up everyday and make him prove his undying love every single day..but whenever you are feeling uneasy about it and you need to talk about it,.he has to be willing to talk and make you feel better. Or you might be the type of person who wants to just leave it all behind and move on. But the ball should be in your court and he should be willing to give you what YOU NEED to stay with him. It is def. going to change your relationship I think that much is safe to say.

I think you def. need answers now. How can you move on in either direction without knowing the truth? Even if the truth is hard to tell and hard to hear..it is def something that you need to learn. It will tear you apart if you don't know exactly what happened because the mind loves to wander.

::hugs::

I voted once a cheater always a cheater.....but like some of the girls on here have already said, you need to REALLY think this over....maybe talk to your closest friends and family and see how they feel. No offense but I don't think we can help you w/o knowing the whole story from BOTH of you and not knowing your specific relationship and situation.

awww tori i am really and truly sorry you are going through this...my heart goes out to you and i hope you find peace with this situation soon.

now, i have seen firsthand how cheating, and then marrying, affects the marriage. my fbil married his HS sweetheart after like 8 years...i found out from a mutual friend of his wife that she had cheated on him with one of her coworkers...it happened a few times, she told fbil, and it stopped. the kicker here is that she got pregnant right before their wedding, and she didn't know who the father was! it could have been fbil, or the other guyy i found out later that she purposely got pregnant after she told fbil about the affair because he was apparently going to call things off, and she got preggo to keep him now, they do love each other, they are having a second baby (there's nooooo doubt that my nephew isn't fbil's) BUT this affair pops up every now and then...first off, she STILL works with the guy she slept with AND HE COMES TO FAMILY EVENTS, like nephew's birthdays and x-mas, WITH HIS OWN WIFE AND CHILDREN why fbil would allow this is beyond me...fsil buys him souvenirs when we all to Fla. for x-mas and hides it from fbil and they had one helluva blow out where she was crying like, how long are you gonna hold this against me, i married u, yada yada yada..i truly believe that fbil didn't break it off with her is because he figured, hey, we've been together 8 years, there's no point in starting over now, i can forgive and forget...

ok, so my point is, KNOW what you're getting into if you stay with him...i know fbil and wife love each other BUT while he may have forgiven her he certainly hasn't forgotten
sometimes they're past it and sometimes they're not it was 4 years ago...

There is sooo much for you to think about and I honestly think that you have to follow your gut instinct and your heart.... no matter what anyone tells you!

Tori, you seem like such a sweetheart and I am so sorry that you are going through this right now. While it is extremely easy for me to tell you that I believe 'once a cheater always a cheater' I can not tell you what I would do if placed in that situation. What you really need to do is sit down and think about everything, you need to be realistic and see if you can eventually move past this. Essentially you need to worry about you first, then I would talk to FH and see how he feels, and while it may hurt ask him what made him seek out someone else and try and work on that if you feel that you want to remain in the relationship. The most important thing right now is to not worry about the wedding or the money spent on it because your happiness is PRICELESS! Don't worry, no matter what you will be fine, from your posts I can tell that you are a beautiful person inside and out! Don't make any rash decisions, you have to do what makes YOU happy, don't worry what anyone else thinks. Good luck Tori!
