Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone was looking into or has heard anything about any of the Sandals Resorts. I am looking into the ones in Jamaica and the Bahamas...but I have heard mixed reactions about Sandals resorts in general..some people love them and others don't. I would appreciate any input. Thanks, Allison

Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice
We are going to Sandals Royal Bahamian. I have heard nothing but rave reviews of Sandals (except Antigua... my friend was disappointed with the quantity of food, everything else she loved). I have friend who have gone to and loved the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Montego Bay and St. Lucia Halcyon. Patrick and I are among the last of our friend to get married, so we have lots of friends experiences to draw on. It's nice to already have the legwork done!

Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice
The only bad thing I've heard is that it may get a little boring after the first few days. If you go to Jamaica, I know that you can visit the other Sandal resorts as a guest. This way you get to travel the island as well.

Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice(JenRenee)
Hi Allison, We will be at Sandals from July 8th - July 17th. You can leave the resort any time you wantto go sight seeing, and we are definitely going to go island hopping. Atlantis will be our first stop since I've heard so much about it. Sandals also owns a private island just off of Nassau that we also plan to visit. Like I said, I have friends who have been there, and they said not only did they not want to leave at the end of their vacation, they want to go back with us! We got a great deal... $3934 for the entire trip, including airfair. Thats less than we paid for our photographer!! My travel agent works through a sister company of Liberty Travel, so check with them for the same deal. It's slightly higher for some rooms. Good luck! : )

SANDALS ANTIGUA
We went to Sandals Antigua and had a nice time. The food was fine. It all depends on what your expecting. All the dinner places were great and then they had a buffet breakfast and lunch. Which we loved. I have to admit the snack bar wasn't the best, but your so full from Breakfast, lunch and dinner, who cares. And we stayed for 7 days and we were very ready to go home. You just feel cooped up in one place. But if your the type of person that can just lay around the beach and read a book then your fine. We were the type that always had to do something, that's when it can get boring. But I think you'll find that on all the Sandals resorts. Ecen if you can go from place to place, because they all have the same things. Don't expect a lot from the town either, most are really run down. My suggestion is, if you like the beach and water sports, and want to just relax, then Sandals is the place for you. It was the most relaxing vacation ever, for us. And after all the planning, we needed it. Good luck.

Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice(JenRenee)
Hi JenRenee, I was just wondering what kind of room are u staying in at Sandals. I heard from others that if I go we should stay in a Honeymoon suite with a room concierge. I also heard from people that its possible u can get a room upgrade? Thanks, Allison

Re:Sandals for Honeymoon Choice(JenRenee)
Hi Allison, We are staying in your basic hotel room. We also heard that we should stay in the honeymoon concierge suite, but truthfully, we are spending a mint on our wedding, and are looking to buy a house within the next 6 months, so we figured we are only going to sleep in the room, so why upgrade? You can upgrade though. I think the best room you can stay in has Rolls Royce service from the airport to the resort, a sitting room in addition to a bedroom, and 24 hour concierge service. Sounds great, but not a priority for us right now. : )

About Concierge service
We met a few couples that had the concierge serve and they all thought it was a waste. You figure there's not much you need them for, you are in the lobby anyway to eat so how hard is it to make your reservations. We booked our trip through clicktrips.com and they said we would probably get an upgrade and we did. It wasn't the honeymoon suite, but it was nice.

About Concierge service
Brenda, Thanks for making me feel better about not getting the concierge service. I guess we wouldn't need it after all! : )

Sandals Room Question
How basic is there deluxe room. We are going to Sandals Montego Bay, they told us they would request an upgrade for us, but our package is priced on a Deluxe room . For any of you who have stayed at Sandals or know people who have: are the room difference worth paying for. I understand that I could not compare a deluxe with their suites, but how shabby is there standard. My way of thinking is that we won't be in the room except to sleep. We still have time to upgrade, but does anyone highly recommend it???? All opinions welcomed. Thanks.

Sandals Room Question
We had a delux and it was nice. 4 poster bed with TV. with a little couch. Most of them do not have views, but you just walk a little and there's a view. Believe me, it's not worth spending the extra money. We were never in our room. There's always an activity going on our your in the pool or at the beach. In my opinion it the deluxe rooms are nicer than a standard hotel room. It's tropical looking. Spend your money on something else.Welcome New Vendors
