Readers -- usually women?

Readers -- usually women?

This might seem like a silly quesiton, but are readers usually women? I was thinking I'd ask one of my guy friends to do a reading at the wedding, but FH said usually it's women that do readings. I wasn't sure if it just happened that way or if there's a reason. Thanks!

It does seem to be mostly women that do readings, but I have been to a few weddings where a man has done a reading. FI's uncle is doing one at ours!

My DH brother did one and my male cousin did one.

Actually, both of our readers are our uncles. I've honestly never noticed more women than men though....

I never thought about it til FH said something! Then I was like, 'hmm, I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where a man has done a reading.' I was thinking maybe it's usually women because there might be times when there's someone you couldn't make a BM and, this way, they have something to do?

Good to know that I can ask my guy friend if I want to! Thanks!

I was at a wedding last month with a male reader but you are right overall I have noticed mostly women readers. Now that I think of it all my readers are women too.

We had two aunts as readers and FH's two guy cousins do the Prayer of the Faithful. I don't think it matters at all.

Both of our readers were male - my brother and DH's cousin.

I don't think it matters male or female....you should choose someone who is special to you

I've noticed that the majority tend to be female but there is no rule about it. We are having one of the GM do a reading...but by request it cannot be too mushy.

We had our dads each do a reading at our wedding.

Not necessarily. I'm having my brother in law do a reading. I want it to incorporate him in my wedding in a special way.

We had my uncle and DH's sister do readings. It doesn't matter if the reader is a male or female.
