Really
Today is the first day of the new year and I was so excited that his weekend I finally completed some checks.Today I wake up and my fiancé sister is saying she doesn't want to be in the wedding because she doesn't want to pay to pay the balance of her dress.
She was so verbal about what she thinks I need to do for my wedding and she want all the girls to wear black so they can wear th dress again. I didn't go with the black dress and she put money down on the dress. They put the order in and 3 days later she tells my fiancé that she's pulling out.
I found a flower dress on sale for $70 and my cousin wife tells me she prefer something cheaper.
Really people?
I'm so hurt.

Sometimes it seems that two steps forward bring you one step back. Sorry that you are going through this.In no way do I think you should compromise on the color of the dress. If money is a problem, maybe have your FH talk to his parents (maybe they can help their daughter).
As for the flower girl dress, as long as it is white, I would look around for something cheaper. There are so many little girl dresses that you should not have a problem finding something that you like in your cousins price range. Good luck.

This! I found my flower girl dress at kohls on sale for 30$ and I had a 30% coupon. Or if you love it maybe you can offer to pay and it can be her gift for being in your wedding.

He said he thinks she will always make excuses.
I feel like a fool for even asking her and telling everyone she was going to be in it.

Some people just don't have integrity. They say one thing and do another or don't carry through. I know it's hard because it's FH's sister, but it sounds like you're better off without her.As far as a flower girl dress, how important is it to you? I made my life a little bit easier and told my FG's mom that she can pick any dress she wants as long as it's ivory and ran it by me before she ordered it. It worked out well.

I guess I could try and find a cheaper flower girl dress but I never expected anyone to ask me for a cheaper one. When I was in weddings in the past whatever the bride picked I would just go with it. Whether I liked the dress or cost. I should of prepared myself.

I have 2 flower girls and the mother of the other one was fine with the price. I could have them pick out their dresses but It probably won't match. Both mothers live in different states.

Oh, I didn't realize. 70 seems very reasonable for a FG dress, btw. I got mine on here: http://www.girlsdressline.com/ You might be able to find something a little cheaper? Even on the internet, average cost is about 60.

Sorry you have to deal with this. I have a similar issue. FH's sister is supposed to be in my bridal party (I was reluctant because she may be abroad for school and unable to come hence having her back out last minute and an odd number on my side vs his. So to avoid this I wasnt going to ask but then I got beef. Le sigh dont find out about her school until march. Hoping it all works out. I say you get rid of the headache now and just leave her out of it. Even if your FH parentshelp her with the dress she can still be flakey later. Good luck!

My FH said the same thing after I told him I was going to call her. I'm so disappointed in her.

It is so sad how when you are getting married and planning how people's true colors come out... Try to stay positive and remember that sometimes people just don't know how to act right

Re: Really
I am so sorry you are sad...that is kinda messed up they are voicing their opinion like that...YOU are the bride and it is YOUR wedding...YOU get to choose what dress you want.I would have an adult conversation with your FSIL and tell her you are very hurt and if it was her wedding you would wear whatever she asked. But if that is how she feels then maybe its best she isnt in the wedding. DONT CHANGE ANYTHING because she makes you feel bad!!
As far as the flowergirl dress goes...$70 is CHEAP! I've seen dresses for over $90...some around $100...what is she complaining about?

I agree with the above comments! Try talking to her, maybe FH could try talking to her or at least to his parents maybe if it comes from someone else it would be received better. That's terrible that she is acting like this. It doesn't even sound like you are asking anything ridiculous of them. I hope everything works out for the best!

Yea, I don't know what comes over people. These are the same people who would be insulted if you didnt ask them to be in the BP, and then they act so put upon for the simpliest thing!
Luckily, I havent had to deal with any of that yet. Fingers crossed!
