ok.. I ask this like twice a week... but I really need answers.
I need to know the absolute cheapest photographer and videographer around!
FH pretty much doesn't want to spend the money on a photographer and thinks videography is a big waste! I feel opposite... but he controls the checkbook.
So... I emailed photographers and videographers yesterday and I got a lot of quotes back, and others that say 'come in to talk...' and honestly- after being so indecisive with a RH.. i don't want to go through that AGAIN! we looked at 17 halls and contacted countless others... FH and I both became so stressed over it that we had huge fights, both got sick... it was just he ll !...
so.. I'm asking you guys... CHEAPEST photographer around?? Like is it impossible to find one UNDER $1,000??... ok how about under $1,200?? $1,500??? my budget is sooo tight.... I need a photog for over 12 hours.. that's where its getting too expensive! our church is at 1:00 and our night doesn't end until 12:00... unless I skip the 'getting ready' part... but I really don't want to!
so.. help??
oh- videographer would have to be CHEAPER for him to say yes....

Madison Ave Photography can do video for $1095 that was the cheapest I could find for Video. I have a friend who is doing my photog for my wedding so I just needed video. If you want his info FM me. I'm not sure what he charges but I know he can work within all budgets. Maybe you can do the albums etc. for yourself and just pay for his time and the proofs. That would really cut the cost.

If I am correct because they are providing a service the photo/video should not be charging tax. My suggestion to you would be call a bunch of photos and tell them that all you want is someone to shoot the wedding and give you an edited high resolution cd. That way you can print whatever you want from shutterfly or something like that and make albums for whoever you want and it will be a lot cheaper.

My photographer is doing it for $875 from beginning until the end. When is your wedding? He isnt doing anymore weddings for this year but if your wedding is next year than maybe he can be some help.
I honestly don't think you will find an established photographer willing to do your wedding for under $1500.
However, you can try doing a search on Craigslist under services for photography. You can probably find someone just getting out of photography school or maybe even still in school for cheap. But, keep in mind, you probably won't have the professionalism or reliability that you have with a company.

Remember that a lot of places include the album in the price which adds a lot (like usually 400+). So, if you want, get the photography where you can find it in your budget, just get the photos and then either do an album yourself and/or just get the album done at a later time, maybe for your 1 year annivesary or something nice like that. Also, if you are not interested or willing to compromise on not having parent albums, thats a savings too and lastly, if they are including an assistant, ask how much it would be just for the one person. These are ways that i negotiated and it worked with a lot of vendors to get a substantial amount off! good luck
oh also, if you are okay with not having the hardcopy prints, you can just get the cd or dvd and then print them yourself and could pick and choose which ones. like at cvs or something

You could try Craigslist or check out the local colleges for studen photogs.
You can find photographers who are trying to build their portfolio and are willing to shoot your wedding for free even. I know a couple and you can find a bunch on craigslist too.

Most photogs typically are hired for 8 - 10 hours anything over that is extra.
Try Skid Mark Productions (I think that is the name) I think they have packages for $800+. Do a search on here for them. Good luck.

My friend found someone cheap on craigslist, she's only getting a cd with the pictures... no albums. We'll see how they turn out. As far as video I didn't want to spend too much either. i'm using http://www.jlproductionsny.com/ He does good work and prices are reasonable. Good luck!
