I like them..But where would you hang it from

i don't see a need to hang em, no?

or if you do

get a nice lil exotice banzi (sp) tree and hang em from there...that would be neat in a way

That's a great idea!!

I'm making those! I set up a table in Word and then I'll just cut them with a paper cutter. I am using card stock for the table # and vellum for the names.

ETA: I'm not hanging them from anything - I'm probably just going to tie a bow.

I'm am making them as well. I am sizing the paper/vellum so they stand up like regular placecards. Instead of the trailing ribbon, I am going to make bows.

You're welcome Pickle. LOL!

We've been working on it on and off and are having problems with the font. Because some names are longer than others, and some are Mr.& Mrs. while others are ....& Guest, it's hard to make them look uniform.

I'll let you know when we get it right.

I love those too. They are pictured in Bride's Reception Magazine.

I saw them in Martha Stewart's magazine, the article says you can hang them from a potted tree, or from colored branches you can get from your florists... I love these..

Re: really cute placecard

We made them for my daughter's wedding, as she described in a post above (Can'tWaitMay04). They came out beautiful. We made the numbers in a soft shade of black and the names in a swirly font that matched the invitations, programs and menus. Instead of a bow we found it looked nicer with just a knot and the tails of the ribbon were cut on the bias.

Re: really cute placecard

Can you just print on the cardstock w/ the name/number and then make a separate sheet w/ the name/number and then put them together according to the layout once you finish the floorplan??

Re: really cute placecard

We printed the numbers on cardstock and then the names on vellum. Our home laser printer worked beautifully on both. We also have a really good paper cutter that made it easy to cut and it gave us crisp edges.

Re: really cute placecard

I was planning on doing something like this for the rehearsal dinner!

Someone once gave me the idea to make little name cards like that, and hang them from the stem of a wine/martini glass. Everyone will be walking around, cocktail/buffet style at the rehearsal dinner, and I want them to get to know each other really well before the wedding. The tags will say things like:

'Kate *****, mother of the bride'

'John ***, Best man.'

'Hannah ****, wedding soloist'

So that it becomes a conversation piece in the room, people mingling around, peeking at each others tag and saying 'OH! you are so-and-so, it's so nice to finnally meet you!' Plus, it takes the pressure off of you to continually introduce everyone!
