Really need prayers right now.

Over the holiday weekend, I found out my grandfather is terminally ill and his doctors don't think he'll make it passed the new year.

He was diagnosed with cancer, which has spread to his lungs. Because of his prior health issues, my grandfather is unable to receive chemo or radiation. He was going into hospice this week, but my family decided that he should come home and spend his last weeks with his loved ones.

My family went up to see him on Thanksgiving and told me he doesn't look like himself anymore. He can hardly talk.

I'm seeing him this weekend, and I don't know how to hold myself together.

I've never experienced the death of someone close to me before.


Please just keep my grandfather in your prayers.

my grandmother passed away last september after having home hospice care. it's a terrible thing to watch someone you love slip away, but i found it easier to cope with since i had time to say goodbye. i was able to say things to my grandma that i wouldn't have been able to if she had passed suddenly. if you need anyone to talk to, FM me. hugs and prayers coming your way

I think your family is making the right decision to keep him home, keep him surrounded by the love of your family!!! and make sure you spend time with him as well.

My great grandfather died 2 years ago and it made me feel so much better by spending as much time as I could by his side, he also couldn't talk well but he recognized me and he kept calling me the 'nurse' I'm a physician assistant but he didn't understand and was confused.

anyway my point is to really be there and spend time with him,i really feel no matter what status you are you can feel the people around you,
