But you have to understand, the bleeding you get on your off week of pills isn't a 'period.' Not really. It's not the same thing at all as a normal cycle. When the Pill was invented, the researchers had to decide if they would set it up for women to have periods or not, as they're totally unnecessary, but marketers told them that women would feel nervous not getting a period at all, so they worked it out that you'd take the pills for three weeks and then get a 'period.' Also, I suspect that the makers of pads and tampons would not have been happy with the idea of millions of women suddenly not needing their products.![]()
