Really starting to hate the word bridezilla
As I sit here at work and do nothing but think about wedding things
I can't help but think about all the times everyone on here has said thy have been called a bridezilla bc at one point or another you have had a disagreement w someone about what you want them to do for your wedding. In effffffing sick of it.Had it w my Fmil bc she thinks $4k for flowers is ridiculous. Sorry hooka, you had no problem putting 120 on your guest list for my parents to pay for the reception $12,000 but you can't cough up a few grand!
I've been waiting 12 yrs to marry fh and damnnnnit it's going to be done my way.
Ok please don't think I'm a psycho I just needed to get this out somehow where other people will just side w me and make me not feel so crazy
Your turn to vent!

I loathe that word too. One of my vendors at work emailed me yesterday and was like 'remember DONT BECOME A BRIDEZILLA' I just deleted the email.First of all he doesn't even know me, secondly, who are you to tell me what to do?
I have been really calm so far (I say this NOW but as it inches closer and closer the stress is growing...).
FH's sister did the same thing to me FDNYbride, she texts me asking if I could add people to the guest list. She hasn't given us a damn dime. So my answer was absolutely not.

The best is when my FMIL tells me how FH and I 'aren't rich people and we shouldn't have a wedding as if we are' ARE YOU EFFING KIDDING ME?!? The ONLY thing she is contributing to the ENTIRE wedding is our limos and you bet your a$$ I shopped around to get the biggest bang for our buck. Lately FBIL and FSIL and I have been butting heads. Just you wait.. you wanna see bridezilla.. It will absolutely come out if they keep it up cuz they will BOTH be out if the bs don't stop..

I agree! Its your day and you should do what you want...especially if your parents are paying for the bulk of the wedding, your FMIL has no right to make comments on how expensive something is. Its her son getting married too.

Mine is the worst bc she wants to feel like they are contributing and it's their day and that they have any freakin say it in but when it comes to $$$ she wants nothing to do w paying. Yet they had the balls to invite 6 couples tht ffil works w that fh and I have never even met!! Um sorry but I want to know everyone at my wedding! Even fh was pissed abou that

I know that my FMIL definitely thinks I'm a bridezilla because even though she is paying for our RH, I'm not going to agree with every idea she has. In fact, I've said no to EVERY idea she has tried pushing on me. She is just very tacky and has a different vision of formal than I do.She has even gone as far as telling my mom to act as if she has come up with some of these ideas thinking I would say yes if it came from my own mom (as if my mom was going to keep this a secret from me?!). If I dont like an idea, I will have final say, no matter where the thought comes from!!
My FMIL is the most passive aggressive person I have ever met!!

This sounds just like my FMIL as well! FH and I are not inviting people we would like to be there because our numbers were getting too high (its already a large wedding) and then FMIL calls and tells us she NEEDS to invite two more ladies she works with and their husbands. Mind you she already has at least 1 table worth of her work friends coming. We are going to have so many people at the wedding we dont know

I guess I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. My FMIL is not putting in her two cents, with money or opinions. It's actually like she could care less about the whole thing anyway. My inlaws are not involved in the wedding planning at all, I hope they show up. My mom on the other hand added a whole bunch of friends to the guest list that she barely talks to 'in case I need to fill seats'. Um, no! But she already told them they're invited so now I feel bad not inviting them.

Wow I'm really lucky! I love my FMIL and she has great taste! She's helping with my CP's, invites, dress, shoes etc. Although most of our guests at the wedding are my parents and fil friends I don't mind lol

Don't get me wrong I love my Fmil and it's not just her thats giving me a hard time but sometimes i wish I could just do what I want without everyone adding their opinion, then when I don't agree the call me a bridezilla.I truly loathe that word

This new girl at work called me a Bridezilla yesterday. I looked at her like 'are you serious?' and said 'I don't like that word.'That pretty much sealed the deal that I won't be inviting her.

Actually I have NOT been told that I was a bridezilla, FH was jokingly calling me one bc I have been so calm about things. Our parents each donated a sum to our cause. We collect their money when it is needed (I am in charge of all monies being dispersed). I do NOT divulge numbers to anyone that way I don't have to hear anyone's opinions, honestly, it's none of their business. They all committed a # to us when we were engaged and there were no stipulations as to how it should be spent. If there is an issue with FH's family, I make FH deal with it, including asking for the loot and he has very well. This keeps things fair and as far as I know, everyone's happy. And if they aren't, too bad!

We are paying for our wedding and our folks are all really supportive and helpful. My Dad and step mom dont really get the whole Long Island wedding thing since we are from Kansas(!) so they gets a little shocked when I talk about limos and cocktail hours etc LOL, but I am hoping they'll get into it. I haven't asked for many opinions, and just make my plans and tell everyone it's all a surprise!I haven't started giving my bridal party too many instructions yet, so I am hoping it will all go ok when I need them to get measured and start sending me $$ for the dresses.
