Well, all of you know that my father passed away very suddenly on the 25th. I cannot imagine my wedding right now but I know that he would want me to be happy so I must continue planning.
Well, I got numerous cards and had many conversations with my dad's friends. Apparently my dad gushed about my wedding non stop. About 10 of his rough, tough, upstate hunter/fisherman, carpenter friends told me in person or in cards that he even told them about my dress. I would have paid to hear those chats! I guess my dad told them the whole story from me buying a dress, returning it and now debating between two dresses. I remember showing my dad the Jasmine gown and his eyes welled up. He told so many people how much he liked that dress.
So, decision made. I am buying the Jasmine gown. AND I got a call yesterday that the store upstate by my mom's house finally got in the dress sample. SO, on Saturday my mom, my aunt and my little cousin (Jr. MOH) are all going to the store so I can try on the dress again. I'll order it up there or from Burton's or Bridal Elegance but either way...my dress is a reason to smile. It's exactly what my dad wanted me to wear!

Your whole story is a reason to smile! That's so sweet that your dad told all his buddies about your dress. I'm glad that you decided on a dress.

I'm the new bride on the block, so I'll start off by saying I'm so sorry for you loss. I know that deaths are never something that anyone could prepare for and pray for both you and your family. Second, I think that those memories of your father talking about your dress are so precious and you'll have him by your side at your wedding, wearing the dress you described to him!

aww, that is such an amazing way to honor your fathers vision of you, im so glad he got to share that experience with you and he will surely be there by your side walking down the aisle in your heart, what a good man!

My condolences about your father, that is the nicest thing I have ever heard, and you totally brought me to tears! I think when your dad is watching above you on your wedding day that seeing you in that gown will make him the happiest ever because you did it for him, that is just such a beautiful story! and congrats on finding your dress!!

That is so sweet. I can't even imagine going through this and I know it has to be hard but just know he is looking down on you smiling at how beautiful you are in that dress. You are make a great choice.

That is such a sweet story. I knwo its hard to lose a parent but WOW he was talking about your dress and people told you about it.. its like him letting you know that the Jasmine dress was the one!!!!

Thanks to each and every one of you for your kind words. You're all right. My dad will be part of my day, he will be proud of me and he wants me to be happy. I just need to keep telling myself these things. I am sure trying on the dress Saturday will be emotional but my mom, aunt, grandma, cousin and I all deserve to do something fun and something that will make us smile..
and even better, my FH has volunteered to hang out w/ my 9 year old cousin and play Wii with him while we go dress shopping. My cousin ADORES him. I love how good he is with kids. Just another reason I love him! And another reason my dad thought he was amazing!
