Re: Receiving Line
I dont think we are doing this...only because we might not have enough time. There is a mass right after our ceremony

Re: Receiving Line
Do you mean after the ceremony/church?
I want to nix this after my church because I feel like it is a waste of time. I really don't want to say hello to people that I will be re-greeting in a few hours at the reception. My parents really want me to do it though, so I have to see...

Re: Receiving Line
we are out on the church receiving line and werent going to do ANYTHING but recently we went to a wedding and the bride & groom were standing @ the entrance of the CH. We thought is was a great idea & we might possibly do that.

Re: Receiving Line
We did not want to do this but it seemed like on the day of everyone was waiting for us to come back out. We didn't, we were taking more photos but I guess people look for it.

Re: Receiving Line
We're doing one, mostly because if we choose not to do it, people won't realize and will start lining up to greet us anyway. We're expecting only half of the people to go to the ceremony, so it won't be SO long and then I can enjoy the reception a little bit more since I've already greeted half the guests. Of course I'll still go over and have a quick chat, but I won't feel so badly if we don't hang out for too long at their tables.

Re: Receiving Line
Nope. We are getting married at the RH and then CH starts immediately afterwards on the deck like 5 feet away from the ceremony space...I don't want to walk up the aisle and rush to greet 110 people...I'd rather spend the first few moments of married life with my new husband and NOBODY else

Re: Receiving Line
I'm doing one. I've got about a 3 hour gap in between my ceremony and CH so I figure it'll help kill time.

Re: Receiving Line
we are... would would rather do it it at that point and spend less time at the wedding having to 'talk' to people. we want to really enjoy our party since we are paying so much for it, we want to be dancing and eating as mush as everyone else, so if we do the receiving line we can get alot of the talking and greeting done then

Re: Receiving Line
We are because it's really special to me if people come out on a Friday to see us married at our ceremony so I'd like to greet them and personally thank them for sharing in the most important part of the day.

Re: Receiving Line
I personally think its a bit rude not to do one. I've never been to a wedding where there wasnt one - JMO

Re: Receiving Line
I don't anticipate a lot of guests being able to attend the ceremony so doing a receiving line won't be so bad. I had brought it up to my mother and a few relatives about possibly not having one and they said it would be rude not to thank those that attended the ceremony.
