Reception card question

Reception card question

How did you politely request that parents don't bring their young children. I know a lot of girls on here have said that their guests didn't get the hint from just writing the parents names on the envelope...any ideas?

Re: Reception card question

Most of my family with young children have already called to find out....and we passed the word on via mouth. But, we are also addressing the envelopes as Mr. and Mrs. (without 'and family') and the inner envelopes will have only the adult names. For those who are invited (older first cousins...the inner envelopes will addressed as such).

For the most part, word of mouth has worked.....and most of my family doesn't want to bring the little ones anyhow---it's a party. So, we haven't had that big of an issue.

We wrote, 'please join us for an adult reception' on the reception card. They are going out tomorrow so I don't know if it worked yet.

Thanks! His family is pretty used to toting the kids everywhere, so the envelopes may not work...I think they would just assume it was ok.

I'm putting 'Adult Reception' on the cards.
