reception dress - need help

Original post by Future Mulligan

i bought a dress to wear after cake cutting (for the last hour and a half of the reception) BUT i'm not sure if i am feeling it anymore - any websites where i could browse dresses? i want something short, sexy and maybe lace - do any wedding dress designers make reception dresses? any good websites to check out? ive been googling since last night but haven't found anything yet

How about something like what Britney Spears wore for her wedding? She changed into a short little lace dress with a cutout back. I'm trying to find a pic online.

EXACTLEY like that would be dope - i love the cutout in the back.....im having trouble finding something - i might have to venture into the city - but i wouldn't even know what stores to look in

The department stores in the city tend to have a bigger selection of dresses than they have online. You could check out Saks or Bloomingdales, they could have something.

That is a hot dress!! only thing I'm not sure about is the one boob covered in sparkles and not the other....you would have to try it on. I tried on a regular wedding dress like that and it looked so lopsided to me at the time, like OH here's my left boob!

I really love the shape of this one though!

good thinking with the boob thing! i like that one boob has the sparkly but at the same time it could look weird i guess i am into asymmetry - im wearing my hair to one side

its a jovani - how they heck am i going to find this dress? i tried searching for stores that carry it through their website but nothing....maybe i can try googling the style #?

Well then maybe with all your asymmetry it will look cool! hmm especially with the cage veil, it could really work! I really don't know where to get it though!!!

i like that this dress is night stark white - its listed as beige - it looks like an off white color - which i like better than stark white, i dont like the way certain fabrics look in a bright white....i know that places that carry jovani can order it to the store but i think that means im obligated to buy it - and its 500 bucks - i dont want to order it and then not love it....

Yeah I totally know what you mean, theres no point in changing into something thats not equally as special and gorgeous as your first gown, plus you still want to look like a bride for that last hour, which is why I love your doing the birdcage veil!

Ha...I think that would work out perfect then!

Try a google search with the style number or maybe try calling Jovani directly. Actually, maybe Jovani has their own showroom in the city? Maybe they would have it there for you to see.

ETA: I just checked. It doesn't look like they have tneir own showroom, but Macys Bridal Salon and RK Bridal carry their dresses. Maybe call them and see if they have it.
