Reception dresses???
I have now seen this twice on Bridezillas...is this a new thing? Having a regular gown and then having a reception dress? To me you spend so much time picking out the perfect gown and then you aren't even going to wear it the whole time? Has anyone seen this for themselves or know where this came from?

Re: Reception dresses???
I personally have never seen this at a wedding. Although, I have pics on here where a bride may where a traditional wedding gown for the ceremony then change into a dress of their native culture for their reception.

Re: Reception dresses???
I've seen it ...but IMO I think it's a waste of money. Not sure where it came from., but I'm sure it's a preference thing..and honestly if you can afford to buy 2 dresses. Personally, I plan to stay in my dress and feel like a princess the entire night. If you notice on Bridezilla's (yesterday) her husband didn't seemed thrilled w/her dress.

Re: Reception dresses???
I did notice on Bridezillas that Angela's DH did not seem at all thrilled...they were over budget as it was and she spends another $1000 on a recpetion dress. I don't understand the point. I plan to be a princess all night too!!!

Re: Reception dresses???
I want to wear my dress to bed bc I want to wear it as long as I can...but I am sure FH will not let that occur if he has anything to do with it.

Re: Reception dresses???
i guess they want a traditional gown for the ceremony and then a sexy gown for the reception,i personally wouldn't do it either you put so much energy into finding the right gown, why would you change so quickly?

Re: Reception dresses???
I thought about it, but I couldnt justify all that money for a dress I would wear for like three hours.

Re: Reception dresses???
It's something Hollywood started and now the bridal industry is trying to convince brides it is a good thing - all so they can make money.Personally, besides spending all that time finding the perfect dress and LOVING IT, why on earth would you want pictures in two different dresses so that it looks like two different weddings?????

Re: Reception dresses???
It's not a hollywood thing to me. Being asian it's traditional to have many dress changes. One for the tea ceremony, one for the wedding ceremony which you can wear while greeting guests at the reception, another for the main body of the reception and a final outfit when seeing guests off.I'm cutting it down to 2 (ceremony + reception) or 3 (tea ceremony). As for costs, both my wedding gown and reception dress were from ebay so I saved a ton. Both dresses combined are cheaper than what a lot of brides pay for their one wedding gown.
