i have started my search for a reception hall for my 2006 wedding and desperately need suggestions from you girls!
my requirements are 1) sunday - would like to start at around 4pm in the afternoon. so would need 'twilight' or a full day hall.
2) have about 220 guests.
3) not over $150++ per person.
4) in nassau county
5) 1 wedding at a time
so far, i've looked at - woodlands (nice) - village club of lake success (nice for a saturday but not for sunday) - north ritz club (regular time slot is very decently priced, but twilight is A LOT more expensive, like $60 more per person)
any other suggestions????
thank you!!!!!!!

Re: Reception Hall Question Again...
If you're willing to go into Western Suffolk - we had our Sunday night wedding a Chateau La Mer - very reasonably priced and a beautiful place!

Not sure of price but afb10304 had hers at 4:30 on a Sunday at Deseversky - they had it the whole day. Chateau La Mer was willing to do a twilight for us but they're more than one wedding at a time. Other than that, we didn't really find any (that weren't a million bucks) that had twilight as an option.

Just to clarify - CLM will do two weddings at a time - but not at the same time - they stagger the times by a couple of hours so you don't have two brides and grooms and guests coming in and out at the same time. We were in the downstairs room and there was a wedding going on upstairs that had started a couple of hours before that - no one even knew they were up there - separate bathrooms, bridal suites, etc. I was very concerned about hearing their music, etc - you couldnt hear a thing!

Re: Reception Hall Question Again...
harrison house - can hold the amount - but some people have to go in the sun room -the room they added wraps around this room
i am not really sure of prices for sundays but it should be around there - so is carlye

The Crescent Beach club may be in your price range for an afternoon reception. They definitley hold enough people and it's one wedding at a time.

My FSIL got married on a Sunday night at Carlyle and got a steal with 135pp, she worked for KJOY and they were her account.
The food there is awesome too!!! Her cocktail was outrageous!

Take a look at the Stewart Manor Country Club. (www.stewartmanor.com) Our reception was there last October and we LOVED IT!!! 1 wedding at a time, great food/service. We had 220 guests, paid $65pp for a Sunday night.
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

Re: Reception Hall Question Again...
it seems like with NRC they're just trying to make you pay for both slots ! if you like it, go back..they negotiated with me a lot, maybe they'll do the same for you...twilight can be really difficult to get a godo price for, becayse at a one wedding place, you're going to have to pay a lot more $ because you're using u both of their time slots. But your # could be a lot of leverage. If you can guarantee 220, they may be able to work with you, b/c I know NRC min for sundays is like 150, and they wouldn probably go down for someone to like, 120 or 100....so if you guarantee 220, it's like you already ARE paying for both slots.

Re: Reception Hall Question Again...
I have to agree. Im biased when it comes to NRC. I'd go back if you like it. Another great place we went to was the watermill and they were just as accomodating as the NRC. The only thing is they do two weddings at a time, staggered but one is upstairs and one is downstairs and from what I heard from other brides you would never know about the other wedding. Good Luck!!
