Stupid question, but just as they say you know when you have found your wedding dress 'the one' how did each of you know when you found the reception hall of your dreams. I think it really is about finding the one you like the most but just curious how you all felt.
Thanks!!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
When I walked into the Floral Terrace I just got this feeling that this was the perfect place...We looked at some other halls before we booked & I didn't get the same feeling...I would find a million things wrong...Then we went back to FT to book & I could not help but smile from ear to ear & got all giddy

I was opposite with the Floral Terrace! At first, I liked it but it was a whirlwind day of 'looking'... FH def. thought it was 'the one'... I went back by myself a week later and fell in love. To tell you the truth, I like it more and more each time I go there.
However, that being said, no matter where I would have gotten married $$ was the most important so I would have gone with the best quality/deal wherever.

I walked into the Carlyle's ballroom and went 'WOW.' I could picture us dancing our first dance in there, and knew it was for us.

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
I knew since I was like 15 that I always wanted Villa. I loved it and my family always going to dinner at Mama Lombardi's. We visted other places, as per FI request, but none included everything Villa does. We both just knew it

I was completely in awe the first time I walked into the lobby of the estate! It is beautiful! The cocktail hour rooms are so pretty and the ballroom won me over... I love the decor and I pictured fh and i sitting in front of that huge window..married!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
I wasn't even going to look at NRc necessarily (i thought it would be too expensive), but oine saturday this past fall girls were posting pics of NRC on BHB, and I said 'wow, its so pretty' and I called right then and there and we went that afternoon. I fell in LOVE with it. I thought FH and I would have a ahrd time agreeing on a hall, but we both LOVED it. It was just so beautiful. We didn't even get to see the abllroom until another dya, but when we did, we KNEW we HAD to have ourfirst dance there.
We looked elsewhere, where it was less expensive and to us, it just wasn't worth it to sacrifice THE HALL to save $$. I really feel NRC will be worth every penny (and it's a lot of pennies!).
Also, the first time we left NRC, we siad if the price or minimum was lower, we could swing it, and when we went back to show my family (who also loved it), they lowered the price AND minimum, so we took that as a sign

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
We found Stonebridge and then a bunch of omens led us to going there. They worked within our budget and included everything we were looking for. Every other place we visited had something wrong with it, but Stonebridge just fit as 'our' place. And the more and more I visit, sometimes I'll just do a drive-by and get all giddy, the more and more I love it!!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
We just knew. My mom came with me and FH the day we found WM. We had visited many other places that day, and we all had a feeling about WM, and went back and booked the next day.

After looking at several halls and going to halls for fam/friemds weddings I knew Chateau La Mer was it for us! Just fell in love with the room and the views and of course Nick was so great. I just knew it was for us when I walked in. Good luck!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
I think its when you see it and then all the other halls can't compare to it...thats what happened for us...there is just something that you love about it Its a tough decision but you will know it when you find it..Good Luck

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
I don't know that I've found 'the one' (the hall that is!). I think I liked it and the price better than most of the other places I looked, but I was originally wanting something on the water or a castle or something. Although it may be meant to be because my sister attended a wedding there the night my FH told her he was going to propose!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
It was mostly FH's decision. I gave him a top 3, we went to Leonard's, then to Jericho Terrace. He liked Leonard's, but when we pulled in to Jericho Terrace's parking lot he said 'I like this place better already'. After we went inside, he liked the CH room, and the first 2 reception rooms we were shown, but as soon as we hit the Dome Room, he was sold! He said 'That's it!' THEN, after our tasting, he was even MORE sold!
For me, I just felt very 'at home' there. Our Banquet Mgr has always made me feel like family whenever I see him, even if I am just there to drop off a payment or for a showcase, he makes a conscious effort to say hello!

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
well i did get 'the one' feeling with the hall but it was just too far out east for everyone else on a friday night in february. i did not get to pick my top choice. which i am a bit upset about. but when it came down to final decisions we found what was the best for us at the fh. price/convience and it was alot closer then my first choice.

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
FI and I had actually gone to our venue -- a vineyard -- for a wine tasting and tour with friends a few years ago. I had always had it in the back of my head that it would be a great place to get married and suggested it after we got engaged. My parents had Raphael in mind, but we visited Wolffer first and knew it was it after our visit. We sat there with the events coordinator, tasting wine and looking at photos of previous weddings, thinking of all the creative things we could do.

Re: Reception Hall 'The One'
My place is undergoing major renovation and even still I knew. The caterer at the temple showed me blueprints and new materials. Fortunately I am a visual person and can foresee how gorgeous it is going to look. The beauty of it all is that my nephew's Bar Mitzvah is at the same place in November so I get a tasting. The food may differ from a wedding but I'll know the quality and will be able to take mental notes. The decorations (flowers vs. balloons and 13 yr old kid stuff) will also be different than a wedding. I also got a good feeling from the man I was dealing with. He is flexible and willing to accommodate our needs.
