I had an idea the other day...but I want to make sure it's a good idea before I get too excited about it....lol I was thinking to attach a piece of a puzzle to the back of everyone's guest card. There will be a little note attached informing the guests to 'Piece the Puzzle Together in the Lobby' Throughout the reception, everyone can come and try to put the puzzle toghter, which will of corse be me and my fiance. Is this idea too time consuming, or would it be a good twist? I want to create ideas that will last years in memories... What does everyone think? The adults that don't want to do it can always give to their children..there will be about 60 kids there... What do ya think??

How many pieces will this puzzle have? Also... what if guests arrive late? there will be missing pieces... it might get a little hectic especially with 60 kids. each child will want to attach their own piece. If you love the idea, go for it... but its JMO

I have to agree that this might get a little messy. Once you start adding the children to the mix you may just have a bunch of children hanging around in the lobby with puzzle pieces and the adults will probably just give their pieces up to the children. I REALLY think it's a cute idea, but I can see a few ways it might go awry. JMO.

its a cute idea but not sure how it would work out either. Would you do this during CH? if so then some ppl might not want to leave the CH, if its during the reception same thing.

i think it's a neat idea, but you wouldn't want your guests to miss the party because they're working on the puzzle in the lobby... so maybe if you do a bunch of smaller puzzles (one per table), it will force your guests to mingle with others seated at their table (?)

Good idea, but what will happen to the puzzle after? will the puzzle take up too much space and become an obstacle when they are eating? and also, how will you decide who takes the puzzle home.

i think it is a great idea ...especially with so many kids coming to your party... yes i think it might take a while but i'm sure out of those 60 kids there are a few who will love it and it will keep them very busy...though i think it might be better to have it in the reception room (if you have the extra space) to keep them from running in and out of the lobby....

I think its a great idea if you are having a smaller wedding, I would be worried about kids like others said but more so that people would spend time trying to put it together rather then enjoying the party
ETA: I like the idea of smaller puzzles at each table-what you can do is take the large puzzle-the original one and break it into the number of tables you will have and put them together when its all done to be one larger puzzle....hope that makes sense

debbie downer here, but i dont care for the idea... a wedding is a time to celebrate and have fun but putting a puzzle together just doesnt fit into the mix... and really if you think about it, who will want to keep a puzzle of you 2... people barely hold onto the thank you pics... sorry, but just being truthful here
i think its more fitted as a shower game if anything!

ah I see, but I think the OP was talking more along the lines of making one of her epics (or any pic) into a puzzle for guests to put together

How about in reverse?
Maybe you could display the picture/puzzle and then have your RH (or you and your FH) break it up and give each of your guests a 'piece' of your special day to take home?

Re: Reception Idea...Fun
what if you did this kinda like a wishing bowl...display the puzzle pieces at the reception and ask guests to write a wish for the couple on the back of the puzzle pieces (they'll have to write small, of course). Then, you and your DH can put the puzzle together on your anniversary and read the guests' wishes.
