Reception locations...

Hello all you 2008 ladies! How is everyone's planning coming along?

We're hoping for Feb. 2008 and, so far, I've looked at The Coral House, Windows on the Lake, The Sterling and Manor East. I LOVED Coral House but I have to work out quirks of traveling guests.

I'm looking at The Riviera, Chateau Le Mar and Med. Manor this weekend.

Any other recommendations? I'm not from Long Island and need lots fo help!!!!!!

If you are into a Victorian style mansion, then def visit the Westbury Manor. I have some pics in my album. And if you are looking for a place with alot of food the WM offers soooo much.

Re: Reception locations...

def check out the reception places listed on liweddings as well as the knot. There are sooo many places you for your time of year, you should be able to get good prices. Mine is at Fox Hollow. I checked out Swan club, and The vanderbilt mansion in Oakdale, Glen Cove Mansion, and Crescent Beach club. All are nice- just very different. I had a college formal at Coral House, but I barely remember details as it was a few years ago. I also had a couple of formals at Bridgeview yacht club which i loved! I peeked in to the ballroom there and it is beautiful! I have heard great things about chatue la mer.

best of luck planning!!

Re: Reception locations...

It sounds like you are looking for places that arent too expensive. If you want a nice feel, I would definately go with CLM or Coral House. I really don't like Coral House because I grew up right around there, but there's nothign wrong with it. I would also try Swan Club but I would NOT recommend Manor East. I have heard way too many bad stories about that place from living in the area to ever recommend someone to book there. I am sure they throw good parties, but I couldn't recommend it. The Riveria was nice, not my style, but it was nice. I fell in love with Bridgeview Yacht Club and the price was absolutely right!!

Hope this helps and welcome to the boards....they're addicting!!

Try CLM, the Riviera (went to a wedding there in November, it was great), or the Watermill(also went there in November, that place was great too! Congrats and welcome!!

I booked the Westbury Manor. It's SOOOO beautiful. I'm telling you, I can't drop off a payment because everytime I walk in, the tears start to well up. LOL

Good luck! Let us know what you pick!
