Try Verdi's in Westbury. They do not have an extensive outdoor place for pictures but you have other options around the area (Garden City Gardens, Eisenhower Park) to do that. They renovated the main room and they are very reasonable and the food is great.

There is a picture of how the main room looks in my album. The made the ceiling higher, new and more chandeliers, brighter, light warm colors, new rug.

I went to a wedding at TimberPoint Country Club and thought it was very nice!

Maybe look at:
Swan Club
Giorgios
Roslyn Claremont Hotel
George Washington Manor
Millridge Cottage
Captain Bills
Flowerfield
Venetian Yacht Club
Chateau La Mer

Some of these are also pretty popular as well though...Im trying to think of less known places...

I know its a little far, but what about a vineyard? Thats kind of different. There is Vineyard caterers and I believe they have an indoor room.

Is there a certain look you are going for?

Definitely look into Floral Terrace....it is beautiful there....you may not have enough people to meet the minimum though....I am also in love with the Riviera!!! It is beautiful there....we initially wanted to have our wedding there, but there was no way that we could fit over 200 ppl....good luck! No matter where you choose it will be beautiful!!

Oh and KOC in Oceanside is pretty and reasonably priced too!

I'm partial but I loved my wedding at Timber Point Country Club. It was VERY reasonable and they did a great job, the food was great. I had about 140 ppl at my wedding, the perfect group for the place. It's not very 'catering hall' feeling - which is what DH and I loved about it.

Good luck!

I am getting married at the Coral House in Baldwin. We are very happy with them so far. They were the least expensive of all the halls we looked at. (Believe me we looked at every hall in Nassau County.) We are getting everything we want including the Viennese table at the end. They are definitely not the typical hall you always hear about. I would definitely check them out.

i always suggest Floral Terrace because i just love the place and they give you so much for your money...plus its not that far from the LIE

I would recommend Caffe on the Green in Bayside, Queens. They have different packages depending on the menu you pick, so there's bound to be something in your budget. We had our engagement party there and it was nice, especially in summertime.

Also, JT11596 posted THIS THREAD about a little known reception place called Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club in Manhasset. You don't have to be a member to have your event there, but since it's a private club, they're not allowed to advertise. Contact her about pricing, etc.

You sound like you are looking for something other than a traditional catering hall.

The DeSeversky Center

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, you have to pay a site fee of ~$3000 to use the space, unless you're an alum of NYIT.

Try Crestwood Manor, in East Northport I think. Their ballroom is under construction and you can get a sick deal if you book with them preconstruction (before August).
And Douglaston Manor in Queens can give you an all inclusive deal option and is charming inside
Good luck!

We were at the Crestwood Manor this weekend. Lisa was very informative and honest. The grounds and the ballroom are both under construction. It is kind of hard to imagine what it will look like when it is done, but hearing their plans I am sure it will be beautiful!! And yes if you book before August they do have good deals.

You sound like me.... I was on a very tight budget. Check out Stewart Manor Country Club.... they are in Nassau County, near New Hyde Park, very easty to get to from the LIE or the Grand Central.

I got married in February and paid under $60.00 a person for a 6 hour reception! Check out my review... I couldn't say enough nice things about them.

FM if you need anything....

they do have a webiste, but i don't recall the URL. just google them and they should come up.

Definitely try the North Ritz Club - I just had two daughters get married and the North Ritz had a great price for off-season and an even better price for an afternoon event. Their food was out of this world also.

Re: Reception Place Ideas

If you want a not so popular/known place, which is awesome, try Koenig's in Floral Park. The downstairs is a German restaurant, but the upstairs is the banquet hall where they do weddings. A few of my aunts got married there, and I've gone to a few weddings there, and it's always been great. The food is so good! And the prices are great!!! They keep the same price whether it's a Fri, Sat or Sun. They only change prices based on certain months. But it'll definitely be within your budget.

Definitely Metropolitan in Glen Cove. It was too small for us otherwise we would have booked it on the spot.

Also the Riviera in Massapequa is great too!

Both places are very affordable and only do one event at a time!
