Hi Everyone !! I'm new to the board and got engaged in December. My Dear Fiancee and I are looking for places. I'd love to hear your feedback of those of you who have gotten married in terms of the reception places, their services, how was the food (very important to us !) *yummy* and anything else you can think of. We had seen Larkfield which I know the food is unbelievable good but I wasn't too thrilled about the shape of the room and the Woodbury Country Club. This one I liked but I've no feedback in terms of food or service because I don't know anyone who has gone there or I haven't been to a wedding there either. I hope you all can help and thanks so much. I will appreciate your honesty!!! Thanks again !!!

Re: Reception Places
We are using The Watermill...How many people are you having...what month are you looking at? And how much is too much to spend? All that matters a LOT...We choose the Watermill mainly for the food, it was better then any I have ever had, the price was more then other places but we felt we were getting more for the money, plus extras like bridal suite, bridal attendant, etc.... Other places we looked at were Riveria...Nice view, but ours was in winter so the 'outside' didnt matter to us as much and the cocktail room was way too small for us...but still nice place The manor east...great food here as well..Room sizes vary, our cocktail rooms were huge but the reception room was way too small for us....Nice though and inexpensive as far as halls goes Stweart manor CC...food was ok..that was the drawback for us but room was AMAZING and people there are so nice!!
Good luck! Also try Meadow club and Port Jeff country club...loved both!

Re: Reception Places
Thanks Ladies for answering !! I knew I can count on all of you !! We are having from 175 to 200 guests. We are hoping 175 the most. We'd like the wedding in late April and we'd like to spend no more than $100.00 pp. We're on a budget but we want something nice too !! I went to seven weddings last year and liked Port Jefferson CC but it is way too far for us. The food there is good as well.

Re: Reception Places
Our reception was at the Stewart Manor Country Club (www.stewartmanor.com) 1 wedding at a time, great food and service, great price, pretty grounds, weather permitting-tables/chairs set up outside for the cocktail hour. We loved it because of the 'country home' feeling. Not brassy or glitzy.
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

Re: Reception Places
I booked the Meadow Club because the place is very romantic looking, the food great and service cant be beat. I am using the small room but the larger room has one of the most gorgeous covered patios and gardens I have ever seen. You can see some pics at www.meadowclub.com Good luck and congrats.

Re: Reception Places
We're getting married at the Milleridge Cottage. If you're not looking for a Saturday night, you can definitely do it there for $100pp or less for that many people. The food is excellent and it's located in Jericho, right in between the Northern State and the LIE so it's easy to get to.
We also looked at Sail Harbour in Bayville (which is now Carltun on the Harbour), Jericho Terrace, Riviera, and Chateau La Mer. I have all the info on those places as well.
FM me if you want more info.

Re: Reception Places
Someone told us about Milleridge and we are going there next week to see the place. My fiancee was there long time ago and he said it was a nice place. We're thinking of our wedding on a Saturday. I heard this place has nice grounds and the food is good. I'd love the other information you suggested. If you can please email me to me, I will appreciate it. I'm thinking of going to see Westbury Manor as well. I went to see Villa Lombardi but I wasn't too crazy about the place even though the food is very good there. I was at the Watermill about two years ago and it was nice as well. Please keep posting your opinions and thanks.

Re: Reception Places
Jericho Terrace has been GREAT so far. We had our tasting recently and it was UNBELIEVABLE food. The seervice has been excellent (ask for Michael Claus), plus the dome room is one of the most unique rooms in the area. Plus the prices are some of the more affordable for the quality we encountered. I would definitely at least visit. Also ask if Michael can be your host. He is a GREAT guy who just makes things happen, which is HUGE during this process. Good luck!

Re: Reception Places
What did you think about the woodbury CC? We were going to book there, but can you believe my date wasnt available? I was very upset because their food was absolutely amazing, and their staff was sooooo nice. We were looking to book the sunday night of colombus day weekend. We were quoted at $75 for that sunday or $110 for that saturday. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info!!!!

Re: Reception Places
I went to a wedding at Jericho this February. I thought it was a nice place but I wasn't too thrilled about it. It's a beautiful place.

Re: Reception Places
I've never been to a wedding in Woodbury CC but I thought the staff was very nice and cordial. I loved the grounds and the rooms. Only thing was about the food...I'm not sure how it is and when we asked for food tasting they were not too receptive about it..so that makes it a little weary....Keep posting please...and we'd like the wedding to be April 30th but I'm pretty flexible....anytime in April as long as it towards the end though the better.....And I'm looking for a Saturday...
