I am really stressing out about the reception sites, and my wedding planning had just begun! This is difficult! Can anyone say anything about the following place? Chateau Briand Leonards' of Great Neck Crest Hollow Country Club Carltun Westbury Manor Manor East Woodbury Country Club
ANY COMMENTS are appreciated.

Chateau Briand - very nice, not my style - Scotto brothers location, so you know the party will be great, food, etc.
Leonards' of Great Neck - same here - not my style. Marble floors chandliers, etc. Food was OK - I was at a wedding there recently.
Crest Hollow Country Club - I think this place is sooo pretty
Carltun - BEAUTIFUL! (expensive!)
Westbury Manor - LOVE IT!!! The grounds are gorgeous, the food is fantastic - another Scotto location.
Manor East - Don't know
Woodbury Country Club - Don't know
These are only my opinions! Don't freak out, this is the fun part!

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
In a nutshell, every one of the places you listed are being used by brides on this site, and I haven't heard a bad thing about any of them. I'm at the Crest Hollow next week and they have been wonderful so far.
So a search on this site for these places, and you'll come up with a ton of reviews.

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
I hope this helps. Chateau Briand - very nice. I have been to a wedding there very nice, food is great.
Leonards' of Great Neck - been there a lot of times. Our work xmas party is there. the food is good. but sometimes it hasnt been. it used to beone of the best but I think its slipping. Really not my style, too guidoish.
Crest Hollow Country Club - very pretty havent been there since my prom ions ago.
Carltun - BEAUTIFUL! (expensive!) I checked this place out, very expensive. Even on the off nights, off months. I know people who have gone to weddings there, food is good.
Westbury Manor - Beautiful. My best friend had her wedding there 7 years ago. I know the food is good. And had other people who had events there.
Manor East - Had my sweet 16 there. food was good back then. Dont know about now. My image of it is small.
Woodbury Country Club - Never been, but checked it out. It is pretty.
GOOD LUCK!!! yOU REALLY NEED TO GO TO GET A VIBE. WHEN I WAS LOOKING, AS SOON AS I WALKED IN I GOT A FEELING, NEG OR POSITIVE ABOUT THE PLACE.

Carltun is very beautiful. My brother got married at the Crest Hollow 8 years ago. From what I remember the food and service was great. Leonards is nice too. I've never been to the others.

Crest Hollow Country Club very well maintained...but very large...multiple wedding...sometimes gets confusing where you are
Carltun one of our choices...its beautiful...and the food is fantastic!! went to a wedding there and were blown away
Westbury Manor the outsides are beautiful...but to be honest...as a guest we felt very squished (could have just been the room) and we ended up in the bar across the hall most of the time...also I ran into 3 other brides during the course of one wedding there...
Woodbury Country Club my sister got married here...they were very attentive...they do have 2 parties at once...but we didn't see it at all...cocktail hour was great!!
it was also raining...so they were very accomodating in taking pictures inside instead of out

I booked with the Crest Hollow CC. I really loved it, especially where you can get married outsite. They can have multiple events going on but they stagger everthing.
My friends got married at Leonards last year and it was beautiful.
Chateau is very beautiful and different, it is almost like being on a ship. The only thing i didn't like was the outside ceremony area. When everyone is looking at you get married, if they look up the DSW shoe store sign is right there.
Carltun - beautiful and always throws a wonderful wedding - but they better for the money you are spending.
Westbury Manor - very beautiful but don't know to much about it.
Woodbury CC - heard good things but don't really know.
Manor East - have no idea.

I can give you all the information that you want on the Manor East. Chippatrid and I are both having our reception there on Sept 18, 2004. Also, butterfly is having hers there Nov 2004. Even though they do two events at a time, you have your own everything: bathroom, kitchen, entrance, exit, etc. Each party starts an 1 1/2 hours apart (ex. my precocktail hour starts at 5:30 and Chippa's cocktail hour starts at 7). They give you alot of food in a menu for their prices. Their prices are wonderful and the people are great to deal with. If you are looking for great food and service than the Manor East is for you. If you have any questions just ask.

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
Manor East is great.
Manor east doesnt have lavish gardens but what it does have is people who cared about us and our day. If we want something not a problem we got it. If we dont want something not a problem it will be taken out. The price is great and so much food is included. We also get an ice sculpture and mini vianesse table included in the price.
We went to an expo recently at our hall and the food was amazing. FI had 4 plates because it was so good. What was even more fantastic is the banquet manager we are dealing with met us 2 times and about 5 months before the expo and when we walked in he shook our hands, knew our names and was talking to us for a while then started to mingle around with everyone else. During the night he would mingle all over the place and ask if everyone was ok if they needed anything and if they did he was personally handling it.
They are a family owned and operated company and have been for at least 30 years. To them the most important thing is your day and you.
What I love most about ME is I made a good friend, NYLisa.
If you have any questions like NYLisa said feel free to ask.

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
We had our reception at the Manor East and everything was excellent. The food, the service, the place was all great. They treated us like stars and really went out of their way to make sure that our wedding day was extra special.I would highly recommend that place to anyone.

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
I got married there as well in Feb 01 so feel free to ask away. I will say that they have great food, however they do not have beautiful gardens or gimmicky floors or walls that open to introduce the bride and groom. If you want those amenities this is not your place. What they do have is great food at a very reasonable price.
Good luck and happy planning

Re: Reception Places -- Please help
hi. ive been in your position and i know how it feels. we searched almost every site. here are just a few of my opinions:
woodbury country club- this was our third choice. the outside is buetiful for an outdoor ceremony, the food is great and the price is excellent-but- there are two parties going on at once, and the inside of the rooms are dingy and old looking
leanards- ive been to 2 affairs there and it was like a factory. the food was okay but the service was horrible- the father and the grandfather of the bride had to go into the kitchen to get t heir own coffee. the vianese hour was nice though.
westbury manor- ive never been and we didnt even check it because we heard too many horror stories. weve heard that people get sick there from the food, but we heard that the place was beutiful.

Chateau Briand - I went to one wedding there about 4 years ago. It was great and both rooms were beautiful. It has a modern feel - not my style, but NO ONE got sick from the food.
Leonards' of Great Neck - FH's cousin had his wedding there last September. Once again, both rooms were nice but the room they were in for the reception was so dark I couldn't take pics. There are other rooms though.
Crest Hollow Country Club - this was my second choice but the room I liked best wasn't available. One of my BMs went to a wedding there in Nov. She said everything was great.
Carltun - don't know
Westbury Manor - My hall. Its beautiful, has beautiful grounds (and peacocks!). One of my BMs (same one, lol) went to a wedding there last memorial day and said everything was perfect. And again, NO ONE got sick from the food.
Manor East - don't know
Woodbury Country Club - This place was too big for us. The grounds were nice though.
