I am getting married next winter 2009 and have just started looking for a reception venue. My fiance and I would like to have our reception somewhere in NYC or Long Island City with lots of windows and a beautiful view of the NYC skyline. We are having 150 people max. Does anyone have any venue ideas/ suggestions that fit this description? Thanks for your help!

Try the waters edge in LIC-The view is awesome. Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn is also really nice.

not Long Island but the Hyatt in Jersey City has amazing NYC views, as does the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange, NJ.

if you want to come to the other side. liberty house and the hyatt in jersey city are right on the water.
i was looking for nyc views as well but they come with a price tag.

Try the Manhattan Penthouse. Its located near Union sq. with views of the Empire state building.

Terrace on the Park -Penhouse room has a full view of skyline, unisphere, worlds fair,shea,citifield..got married there on nov 8th views were incredible!

hi..i've checked out Giando on the Water..I think your party size is good for that place, I think they charge $120 per person, I'm not sure if they negotiate..if weather permitted, you can have an outdoor wedding facing the skyline..
i've also checked out Water's Edge, the skyline is nice, uptown skyline..I think it's $150 per person for evening party, and they're more flexible with price for early party..but what's the point of an early party if you can't see the skyline at night?
if you have no budget, Battery Park Gardens, Bridgewaters, and River cafe

Well I live in Edgewater NJ.. near Ft. Lee.. off River Road.. just in case you know the area.. Franks Waterside on River Road is EXCELLENT! There basically on the water.. The Large Room has huge glass windows.. facing NYC.. if its a summer wedding they can have an outside cocktail hr etc.. its very nice.. pricey but nice.. its 5 min from me and my first choice.. but it was out my budget :(

being in NJ I will agree with Hyatt, Liberty House, Chart House .... very nice NYC views.. and great place!

I went to a wedding there last month and the place is GORGEOUS and very modern. Food was delicious too.

watersedge...but they are expensive and i personally feel their room needs to be renovated/updated

I'm sure all these other places MAY be a little nicer. But, Giando's on the Water, has a BEAUTIFUL view of the Manhattan skyline!
