Recommendations for Bridal Salons - dresses under 2K

Hi!
I am coming in from out of town and need recommedations for Bridal salons that have good service and good prices. I am on a tight budget and need a dress for under 2K if possible (or close to that).
Recommendations please??
Also do I need an appt or can I walk in to this place?

Well, I know David's Bridal is inexpensive. You can get dresses for under 1000. They are not designer gowns, but they are nice. I thought their service was good. They looked for the dresses for me (instead of me searching for them), they helped me put on the dress, and pinned me up. I think DB is your best bet because you'll have a wide variety of dresses to choose from within your budget.

I went to Demetrios Salon for my dress (in Macy's Smith Haven and Macy's Roosevelt Field) and it was under 2K. The dresses are gorgeous and their service is great. If you do go there check out the dresses online first (google demetrios bridal gowns-sorry I don't know the exact website) and make an appt. Also, if you go during a trunk show, they give discounts on the dresses then (ask the store when their next trunk show is).

Try RK bridal in the city, they have tons of dresses and most are under 2k

Don't know where you're coming in from, but you might get your dress for less outside of NY. I'm in VA, and my dress is 2700 more at Kleinfeld's than I bought it for here in Northern VA, and I bought it in Old Town Alexandria, not a 'cheap' spot for shopping!

That being said, there are PLENTY of places and dresses under 2000 in NY as well!

If you find something out of that range, check at home wherever it is you live, or knowing what I saved, I even recommend a road trip! hehehe

I am coming from Boston. I have been to a bunch of places even said $3k As minimum and didnt like anything. I went to one bridal salon In NY so far and have at least found dresses in my range there that I liked... just not love. I want to at least go in NY when I have people to come with me. I have been going alone up here in Boston.

I also tried on a lot of dresses at Bridal Reflections in MASSAPEQUA for under 2k. The one in Massapequa seems to be less expensive than their Carle Place store...by 50%. I dont know...maybe Carle Place just showed me dresses that were on the higher end of my budget.
And don't worry, you are not alone. I have been going to a lot of bridal salons by myself because everyone is working during the week. I am a teacher so it's convenient for me.

I tried dresses at Lilettes, RK Bridal, DB, and at Lotus Bridal (in Brooklyn). I ended up buying mine at Lotus because they were the only ones to carry my dress (its a Fall 2008 dress). But there are plenty of places you can go and pay under 2K.

Angel Bridals in East Islip...very reasonable and amazing service.

Yeah, Boston's a pricey area too, so you probably are better off in NY after all, and it's always more fun to shop with others!!!

I am glad I am not the only one. Sometimes I feel like they look at me odd when I come alone or dont take me seriously... cause how would I actually buy something without my mom there. Shock... horror

OMG! There are so many places to go for under 2k - your budget is very generous! I wanted to stay under 1k and I ordered my dress and tiara from Renate's in Lindenhurst. Have yet to get the veil, and I was around 8 and change. HTH!
