Recommendations for Invitations
I'm looking for suggestions for a place that will help design and make my invitations. Looking for someone affordable who has an imagination and creativity. Someone who specializes in laser cut designs is a huge plus. Thanks in advance!

Thanks ladies. I'm really looking for invitations that are outside of the box. Everything I've seen have been pretty basic. If you can think of any place let me know! Thanks!

I was looking for the same thing and thought custom was the right way to go, but then i went to Lion in the Sun in Huntington (there's one in Park Slope too) and found a set i LOVED...unique, and coincidentally laser cut (like you mentioned). The price was less than it would be to do custom, plus i didn't have to worry about having them take forever to be made, or booking with someone without knowing exactly what you'd get as a final product. I found that most of the custom invitation designers are limited in the sense that most can't do letterpress or thermography. The look is very flat and you can't do anything with texture except choose a textured cardstock. I like the look of the raised lettering.
BUT if you are going to go with custom, check out E*venstar Paperie and Jessica Leigh Paperie. Not sure either of them can do laser cut though...most custom people don't or they'll charge a lot for it.

My mother and I went to Whimsy B Designs 2 weeks ago and I loved the samples they showed us. If you're looking for different invitations I would contact them. I was also confused if I wanted letterpress or regular printing and Jessica showed us both options and walked us through the difference which was nice. Also- their prices are affordable!

Re: Recommendations for Invitations
We used Melinda also at Only You and she is great! She is very creative, helpful and friendly! I highly recommend going to her! I was getting quotes for $1,200 for the invitations that I like... I went to her and I got everything I wanted for half the price from other companies. Really good quality and beautiful work.
