'Recommended vendors' question

'Recommended vendors' question

My question is...
If you go with a venues 'recommended' vendor aren't they supposed to give you some kind of discount? Or am I just assuming that?
I feel like if they don't then why even use them, what's the benefit besides they know the venue?

aside from them giving you a 'deal' I know some venues have them eat for free if you use their 'recommended' vendors.

I see that you are using a Lessings place (which is the same as me :]!)

I will NOT be going with the recommended vendors as I don't NEED the package they offer and I've been quoted less with other vendors :)

I dont think that's the case or it may vary. Some of these recommended vendors have to pay a fee to the venue!! Its kind of like advertising. As the poster above stated, some venues offer free dinner for their recommended vendors.

Re: 'Recommended vendors' question

It all depends on the venue. For my venue, the house vendors did offer a slight discount but I didn't use the house vendors with the exception of my DJ (only because they came recommended from a good friend). From what I was told by my DJ, the venue does get a 'commission' so to speak if you use the house vendors.

I would recommend looking around and compare prices. You may find a better deal and a better vendor on your own.
