I wouldn't mind if the center stone was used again, but I would have to have the setting changed for my style.
i agree. because even through the stone is the most expensive part of the ring, the setting is what makes it your own.
i know when FH and I were looking at rings (he wanted an idea of what i liked) i was focusing on the settings, not the stone. i wasnt going to tell him to get me a certain size or etc.. but i did want him to know the style like. everyone has such unique settings.

i turned in a diamond e-ring from my ex and all i got was $170 for it!
He paid $1000 for it about 5 years prior to me selling it. He got it from Littmans.
It is such a waste!

when i tried to sell the ring my ex gave me i would have only gotten half it's worth. unless i wanted to trade it in towards the value of another e-ring at the same time.
seeing as though i was single... i decided to just give him the ring back and let him deal with it. he didnt even get half it's worth.
so it's unfair to say it would never happen.
that being said... i later heard he gave the ring to his new girlfriend and i laughed my *** off at them both.
my brother bought an E-ring a few years ago. He was single at the time, but the ring was gorgeous and it was an amazing deal. i laugh at him for having the ring now since he's still single but i would hope whoever he gives it to wouldnt leave him just b/c he didnt buy it specifically for her.

yeah me too...I wouldnt tell anyone if it was his ex's diamond either...
I know my ring was bought for me b/c it took me 6 yrs to convince him marriage was a good thing!

I wouldn't leave FH over it but I would be upset. You want him to pick out the ring with you in mind and if it was a recylced ring then clearly he bought it thinking of what someone else would like. That's what would upset me most.
Totally agree. It's like that guy didn't want to take the time and effort to pick out another ring.

seriously, would you really leave him for that? i can understand being REALLY pissed and punishing him for a long time until he sees how disrespectful it is, but leave the person you wanted to spend your life with over a piece of jewelry?
