-grins- Ok I know most people wear standard white or ivory heels and hoenstly I did purchase a pair of ivory shoes. HOWEVER they do not match. Its like there isn't one kind of ivory anymore. There are SHADES. So my dress is one shade and the shoes are another. But I figured no one will see my feet so who cares right?
Anyway I wa sout yesterday and lo and behold what did I see? But a KILLER pair of red satin sandals (with ankle straps which I need because I have super narrrow feet with tiny heels and no arches) with little bows on the toes and a touch of sheer lacy ruffle...SOOOO CUTE!
And the price? A whopping ...
Twenty bucks.

They are so fierce. I know that red seems a little shocking but its my favorite color and our theme is actually red, hot pink and orange. I just think it will be a great shocker in photos.
I saw a photo once of a bride all decke dout, sitting on a chair. She had hiked her dress up to ehr knees and you could see that she was wearing white knee highs and white platform sneakers. I LOVED that photo so I figured we can do something similar with my bright red heels showing.
My mother will surely have a heart attack. -snickers- I'm 'Living in sin' with my FH, I am not gettign married through the church and now red shoes....
Hey I chose an ivory gown for her sake so i need my pop of color somewhere!

Wear the red shoes! As long as they're comfortable. If they're not, go buy another pair of red one. I've seen lots of pictures on the Knot of brides wearing colored shoes, including a very fab pair of hot pink satin d'orsay heels with ribbons around the ankle. I've even seen a thread of brides wearing colored crinolines, it looks great in the dancing phots!
I think I'm wearing blue shoes. I really, really want Peter Fox shoes, although they're expensive, but I love the styles, and I hear that they're actually very comfortable, which is worth any price. I'm not going to enjoy my wedding with blisters. If you buy shoes there, they start out white, but then they dye your shoes to match your dress--ivory, diamond white, whatever, you bring them a swatch. Then, when the wedding's over, you bring the shoes back and they dye them whatever color you want: black, red, peacock blue. It's all included in the purchase price, it's one of the reasons it's so high. I'm thinking of getting them dyed blue in the first place. The only reason I'm not sure is because I'm also planning on wearing a blue sash, and I'm not sure if it will all be too much

These are the shoes. I put in those dr scholls things and PERFECTLY comfortable. BTW LOVE LOVE the polka dot shoes. I have a thing for polka dots. Using a lot of polka dot ribbons in my wedding and used that paper on my guestbook.

ahhh I LOVE IT..
unfortunately my mother would die. she would literally pass out in the middle of the aisle and not let me walk down the aisle unless I am covered head to toe in pure virgin white.

if u wanna wear them, wear them! its ur day! i wore white shoes w. my white dress, but theywere platform, cause thats what im comofrtable in . . . however, remember - u may think u wont see ur shoes, but in some shots that the photographer takes, YOU WILL see ur shoes! so just think about that. . . and think about the garter removal. and yes, i think ur mother will flip out! my mom flipped out that i didnt want to wear panty hose! uhhh!
HAH I love the red shoes so I don't care if they show. It will be ok.

Comfort is the rule in my book. if you are comfortable that is all that counts. Its too special of a day to be uncomfortable and worry about your shoes. But then again i have yet to pick mine out im thinking of slippers. lol.
