Do you have any information on any local NY or LI shelters that are taking in the Katrina rescue dogs? I would love to donate, but with our new house $$ is tight
I'd love to help by volunteering on a weekend, maybe help them clean & situate some of the rescued dogs from LO, AL, MI, etc?
If you can give money, make sure the site is secure. As far as I know, NSAL did not have a secure site, but the ASPCA did.
I just gave a whole bunch of supplies to Animal Haven today(paper towels, newspapers, paper plates). i work in a school, so I just 'take' what I find .
Honestly, if you can donate supplies(old towels, blankets, old toys etc). Give it to a small shelter like ANimal haven. They don't have the funds to do as much work as NSAL or the ASPCA.
