My Fh and I only registered at Fortunoff, originally we were going to do Macys and Fortunoff, because he has a lot of family from Brooklyn, but a lot of people told me that when they know were I am registered they will look on line, any suggestions if I should register at both or just stay with the one store???

i'm also only registered at Fortunoff's. in my opinion you should register somewhere else if you think there are more things you'd want at another store. there are some things that i didn't register for at Fortunoff's that i still would like to register for. we'll probably end up registering somewhere else (maybe Macy's or Crate and Barrell).

we registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond, b/c we have out of town , NYC, and LI guests and BBB has locations everywhere. If we registered for fine china, it would have been at Fortunoff.

We registered at Target, BedBathandBeyond and Macys. My FI family is out of state and all of his friends are in the military so we needed stores that were everywhere.

I registered at Fortunoff for 90% of my kitchen stuff, but at JC Pennys for linens and bedding plus a few kitchen things. My fiance's family is from MA so I wanted them to be able to go to the store if they wanted too. Fortunoff's online is great though.

Just my opinion...I would recommend registering somewhere else. For many people, going to Fortunoffs is not convenient. It is nice for guests to be able to shop for you and not just pick something from the on-line registry list. There are also people who don't have access to the internet or aren't that comfortable using it. It really is totally up to you -

As an FYI, Fortunoffs also has a 1800 number people can use to order your gifts (I think Macys does too) if they are not comfortable online. I am registered at both...both are great, and the combo worked out best for us. I still pondering on adding Crate and Barrel to the list, but my FH is against registering in 3 places, he thinks its too much and we will end up w. a little of everything from all three instead of complete sets of anything...we are still in negotiations on that one :)

I registered in both Fortunoff and Macy's and if I had to do it all over again, I would ELIMINATE Macy's and pick Bed, Bath and Beyond!!!! Macy's return policy IS THE PITS (not to mention some of the workers attitudes)!!! They will only give you the full amount if you have a receipt, even when the price of the item is blatantly there on the printout of your registry! They wanted to give me back less than $5 for something was over $15, was on my registry, and was being sold on the shelf for the same price!!! Also, they gave me some stuff in store credit and some stuff they sent me a check??!!! Why not give me the whole thing on credit? All I know is, it wasn't worth the stress or aggrevation to deal with them or their stupid policies.

On the otherhand, I've returned stuff to BBB w/o receipts and got my FULL money back and with no questions asked. Plus, they are much easier and nicer to deal with than Macy's (and sometimes even Fortunoff, although I really had no complaints with anybody I dealt with there)!!! And if you do register in multiple places, make sure you don't register for the same things, otherwise you end up with double!

Happy picking! Oh, another word of advice -- if you're going w/your FH, make sure you feed him first! :)
