Registering....

Registering....

I need to start this soon, but have no idea what to ask for. Is there a 'must have' post somewhere on here? Or can you tell me the necessities? I have been on own for 10 years now, and have a lot of the basics...although they are hand me downs...do I ask for all new stuff? I think that would make me feel like I am being greedy....HELP!

ask for what you want to ask for- people will buy what they want and want to spend off the registry.

many of the places give you a list breaking down items into categories so it's easier to see what you want like:

linens for bathroom
kitchen appliances
linens for bedroom
bedroom comforter set
kitchen gadgets
everyday dishes
china

etc,.

you don't need an appointment, just make sure you have at least an hour or so to spend there. just go to the registry/wedding desk and someone will sit with you and take all your info for the system, then go through the procedure of scanning items and show you the list of things you should register for. Just have fun!!

You aren't being greedy for asking for new stuff. When you go to the stores to register they have a complete list of what you should register. Everything you need or might not need will be on that list.

I am thinking of definitely registering with BBB....but where else? Like would I register for China at BBB? Or somewhere else...like Macy's?

Bed bath and beyond gives a huge list of items. It's more than you would have really need or use but it's thorough.

Re: Registering....

I registered a BBB and LNT and found everything I wanted. It really depends on how much you like the selection at each place.

I didn't register for fine china. We are moving in from our parents house and starting from scratch so I wanted to get things we needed and would use more than I wanted to get china but I believe BBB has all the same 'popular' china set as macys. I feel they are cheaper, even if macys is having a sale plus BBB and LNT are always giving out coupons. They take each other's and even expired coupons.

If you register with BBB they give you a print out of a list of all the items you could possibly need for every room in your house. It really helps you think of stuff you wouldn't have if you didn't have the help. :) Good Luck.

Honestly I did all mine over the Internet

I also only registered for things that I absolutely needed.
