Re: registering

We registered on Saturday also .. even I was drained after 2 hours, so imagine FH!

We are planning to try to do the rest online or go back another time.

Small doses is def the way to go!

I agree, we did a preliminary registering trip to BBB because people were asking my mom if we were registered for engagement gifts and it was so stressful! There's so much to choose from and it's hard to put the practical part of my brain to the side and register for all of the things that are on my wish list despite the price!

Re: registering

While I know we started registering way too earlier, we started our register at BBB online and did most of it there. I think we'll still stop at the store as we get closer, but I found doing it online to be quite easy and fun.

registering took forever!! i did BBB too, and I did Macys. I like Macy's bedding better, but honestly BBB has more options/mixed priced items and little gadgets to give people choices.

I had such a hard time with silverware, i was like, um that's 45 dollars a SETTING???? it doesn't even look special! haha

the good thing is you can always return it, if you change your mind so don't worry :)

Towards the end it was becoming Chinese water torture!! I enjoyed the first couple of hours but after about 4 hours I was feeling like I hiked a mountain uphill in flip flops lol. We registered for the cheapest china we could find but I am considering taking it off. Even the everyday plates I liked (colorwave or something like that) were $39.99 a setting. Everyone keeps telling me don't base what your registering for on price but I don't wanna be one of 'those brides' who registers for some insanely priced unnecessary plate set or vase or whatever. Seriously it was so stressful lol. Picking my dress was easier

Oh man, 6hrs.... FH would go nuts. I put a ton of things down online and once FH is not working 6 days a week we are gonna go in and narrow down what we want. We have a lot already bc we moved in last yr. Many blessings to you for getting it done!!!

FH took it way better then I did. I was beginning to bite his head off over every little thing towards the end but he actually remained quite calm which was a complete surprise lol. I wish I was done but I didn't choose linens or bedroom stuff because I thought it was all really ugly at BBB.

We registered at BB&B for now and will add Macy's on later when it gets closer to when I should be having a shower. We didn't register for China, we did however get a nicer set of everyday dishes that run about $40 per place setting and then we added in all the little extras that can go with it like the gravy boat and so on. We really didn't feel the need to get China yet because we don't have our own house yet. FH said if I really want it then down the road after we buy a house we can get it, this way it doesn't sit in boxes in our basement. We really want stuff we can use now instead of having it in storage for however many years. I agree, I didn't really think people would buy us something that was so expensive per place setting but my sister got her entire set at her shower so I guess they do. BTW, she has yet to use it and has been married almost 10 years. (something to think about)

We didn't find it too frustrating only because we didn't pick towels and bedding yet (we're doing that at Macy's). If you don't have the place yet for all these items then go neutral. As for bedding, get what you want, you can always paint to match!

I did find that picking out some items was a very daunting task. The one thing I had the hardest time with are pots and pans. We didn't even bother registering for them yet because I had no clue. I love the set I currently have so I don't feel the need to get a new set but FH thinks we should and of course so did the BB&B lady who was helping us. Whatever we didn't decide on now we can add on later. You still have plenty of time.

We did the Macys in Hicksville/Broadway mall on Sunday and seriously they had like nothing. They also were not on top of their game at all, they were completely unorganized and the one lady who knew the bridal registering policy was out! I keep hearing the Macy's on Northern Blvd in Manhasset is the best one but FH thinks its too far, we live in East Meadow, levittown area.

Re: registering

When we got home we changed the entire list lol. I was thinking about just doing Macy's online but I really don't want to have people pay a shipping charge. At bbb(the next day we went back) I went through the list with the girl (they are extremely helpful) and she let me know what they had in store and what would have to be delivered. Such a completely tedious process.

I don't think it will be too far for you two to drive too. When I lived at home in Westbury near Eisenhower Park, I worked at the Macy's in Manhassett. It may be a half hour drive, tops. It might be worth the drive

LOL....i wish i remembered the exact way I went...I just looked up the are on google maps and this is how I think I went...I took Northern State to the shelter rock road exit and then took the service road for the LIE up to community drive. There is a back entrance to Macy's on Community drive, at least there used to be. But you can always take Shelter Rock Rd up to Northern Blvd too.
