How many of you plan to do this? Originally FH and I decided together we would not register for china but then I felt like I got forced into it by so many older women who said a bride MUST do this. Just wondering if you guys plan to do this or just skip it and get everyday dishes. (FYI I've registered for both so far, but since my shower invites have not gone out just yet, I can still technically delete it off the registry before any is bought). Seriously though ~ how often does it get used?! Haha!
No. We're not doing it no matter HOW MANY already married/older people tell me!! We have NO NEED for it and honestly...the people who DO have fine china.. NEVER USE IT EITHER!!!!
IMO... its a waste of space.
Every time I hear about fine china... I think about the thanksgiving episode of Friends with Monica's fine china.

We are getting fhs grandparents China but even if we didn't I wouldn't register for any because I don't think I'll ever use it.

We registered for fine china. We did not get an expensive set ($90) and we picked serving pieces from another set that were very reasonable (I didn't want a bowl that costs $200). We did it because we wanted to, not because anyone forced us to.

we registered for fine china, but not crazy expensive and im pretty sure it's dishwasher safe? anyway people love to give it and we will be upset later in life if we dont order. when would we actually buy it for ourselves! my mom and aunt never got china for their weddings and they spent about 10 years giving each other china as christmas & bday gifts LOL

we registered for fine china b/c I found a set I loved and will actually use! It is modern and fun, yet kinda simple at the same time. Plus, I have everyday dishes and a lot of kitchen stuff overall since FH owns a condo and I live on my own too...we figured we would upgrade and get all 'grown up' stuff on the registry...we are 30 after all!!!

I would only register if you see yourself realistically using it. I have a bunch of friends who have been married for years and told me they still haven't used it. Register for what YOU want since you have to keep everything.

Re: Registering for fine china
We didn't register for fine china but instead for a semi fine china. We registered for it at BBB. It is called Noritake. It's nice enough to use for a holiday dinner but also can be used everyday. The best part is that it is dishwasher safe, can go in the oven, and is unbreakable. The lady literally put a coffee cup on the floor and had FH stand on it and it did not break!!

We have no intentions of registering for it, we already have a nice set so I don't see the need.

I am registered for it, but my family uses them for very holiday we celebrate. I don't think it's something is ever buy myself, so I registered for it. But I don't think it's necessary anymore.

MY Grandma gave me all of her fine china, silverware and christmas china; so I wont register for it. If I didnt have her China I would def register for it. I'd never buy it myself and when I have a family one day I'd like to use it for the Holidays

We actually originally registered for Noritake as our everyday dishes and now I went and picked out fine china (also made by Noritake). After talking if over with FH and family, I'm happy I'll have my own set that I chose myself. The everyday dishes are so pretty and the lady at BB&B bashed the cup on the side of the counter so show us how durable it was ~ it freaked me out haha!!
